Picked the growler up straight from the brewery
A: hazy golden with some copper hints, pours a very nice white head about an half inch thick with a decent amount of lacing
S:hints of cloves and white pepper. some cumin and banana notes anda nice rye spiciness and a floral and earthy hoppiness
T: The rye spiciness comes through very nicely. tons of fruity notes, banana, apples, and orange peel come to mind. Hints of black pepper and some sugary sweetness. some nice bready notes as well
M: Smooth creamy and peppery feel
D: Quite enjoyable Saison that i would love to try again

Had on tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill. Review from notes.
A: Came as a hazy amber with ruby notes. Nice white one finger head on top. Sheets of lacing down the sides.
A: Very fruity, some citrus fruit, most orange, and then some banana. There is also some spice and some sweet malt aroma as well.
T: Sweeter than expected. The fruits from the nose come forward. Also has a grassy/earthy flavor as well. Can taste some of the rye as well.
M/D: Light to medium bodied. Seems slightly undercarbonated, but that is nit picking. An interesting take on a saison with rye. Very enjoyable and easy drinking.

On draft at Ginger Man.
Somewhat hazy golden copper pour with a small off-white head atop it.
Fruity aroma of oranges, apricots, and banana with spice and sweet malt, only mild funk.
The flavor is rather estery and on the sweeter side for the style. Apricot and tangerine are big, with bready malt notes and a slight funky earthy aspect.
Medium-plus bodied with a little less lively carbonation than I like in this style.
Good but not as good as others I've had from Hill Farmstead.

On tap at Blackback pub, served in HF wine glass.
Pours a hazy light amber with a small dense head. Smell is spicy and fruity (mango?) with some grassy American hoppiness. There is a hint of light-struck character in the hops which actually blends in well in this case. Taste is all over the place; fruit, spices and hops take turns attacking the tongue. Upon swallowing, it all blends together and finishes with a nice sour edge. Mouthfeel is light and cleansing. A very complex and drinkable beer; would love to see this with a year or 2 of age.

Note. Brewed with toasted munich malt, flaked rye and chinook hops.
Pours a cloudy amber color with a hint of yellow into my 12oz tulip. A decent two-finger head forms.
Aroma is strong with citrus, rye and even a hint of spiced apple. Very humble and inviting to the nose.
Mouth is greeted by grassy chinook hops followed by a combination of spicy rye/light citrus that manifests upon the tongue. Very crisp and toasty.
Leaves a toasty imprint in the back of the mouth/throat. I keep wondering if perhaps I've just eaten some rye bread. Its a great compliment to other flavors within.
Dorothy is an unique take on the saision. The taste and the mouthfeel leave me wanting more. For that alone, I give this beer high marks. It has been a while since a saison has inspired me in this way.
