Thanks a ton to rtepiak for this bottle!!

A: Standard pour gave a full four fingers of a cream white head, it is very fluffy looking. Retention is very good and lacing is also very good. The beer itself is a lightly hazy yellow color.

S: Wow, this is amazing. Very strong white wine notes: nice oak-y tannins, vanilla and green grape like characteristics. Strong spicy notes: pepper, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom. Quite musky thanks to brett (I think). Some pale malt too with a kind of white sugar sweetness. Light red apples.

T: Quite strong musky notes coming upfront: horse blanket and wet hay. Quite sweet and juicy too: good amounts of red apples and white wine type of acid green grapes. The oak is quite evident in this with the tannins, vanilla and earthy notes. Quite grainy too, which is a surprise after the smell. Not as spicy as the smell though: only light amount of cardamom and cloves are noticeable. Dry.

M: Light body with solid carbonation. Very refreshing and easy to drink.

O: This is one really really good saison. Just lack a bit of "wow factor" to get a better score. Anyway, this is a world class brew from a world class brewery.

1 & 1/6 fingers of head that doesn't let you down. Color is light yet dark with a crisp clean refraction.

Slightly amberish aroma hints of dew and stone fruit.

I heated the it up to exactly 77 degrees Fahrenheit to release its full ash potential. If you go above that you'll mess with the explosiveness of the dark fruit.

Dry on the mouth that holds onto the pocket of the dark fruit.

Batch 2

A: Very hazy light pastel yellow in color. Forms a large foamy-creamy off white head. Good retention. Globs of lacing on the way down.

S: Aroma is very "Saison-like." Yeasty phenols, lemon, peppery spice. There is also a slight sugar sweetness.

T: Taste is much drier than the aroma. Lemon, light yeasty-phenols, black pepper, green pepper, coriander. A little bit of wood that doesn't present itself as uniquely "oak." A slight tartness and maybe a hint of Brett?

M: Lighter bodied. Medium-heavy carbonation. Tart. Dry. Mild bitterness.

O: As to be expected from HF, this is an excellent beer. Dry, tart, complex. Just a very well made Saison.
