A - Extremely hazy gold approaching amber. Moderate carbonation with a white head that fades rapidly to a coating.

S - Lots of hop aroma, tons of citrus with some sweet tropical fruit. Hidden behind the hops is a light but solid malt profile with some sweetness left behind.

T - Much like the aroma but the tropical and luscious sweet hop flavors take charge with some citrus on the finish. Nicely balanced with a large malt bill balances the extreme hop presence while staying in the background.

M - Moderate body, a bit heavy for an American DIPA, definitely coats your mouth. Would like it to be a bit more crisp.

O - Solid American DIPA, will definitely fill my growler there again. Not the best you will find, but the place has their fans...driving down that dirt road to the brewery must make them feel hardcore.

crazy how many double ipas does this brewery have? answer: you can never have enough double ipas haha

oh well lets meet double citra ipa hey how come this one does not have a name? maybe they ran out of names at hill farm haha

poured awesome like a blaze orange color right in my glass sorry but i drank this one out of a plastic cup

smelled awesome all i can say about that serious intense fruit like aroma like mangoes and guava and blood oranges really this is absolutely incredible

taste followed too except it had some serious danky funky strong herbal flavor too in a good way like a crazy indian stew or something

only thing maybe maybe wrong and i stress the word maybe is the mouthfeel a bit thick and soupy but now i am really nitpicking here

overall really fantastic brew best one from the hill yet and great double ipa even better than ephraim imho

Hazy golden yellow color with a soft white head that retains well. Nice lacing. Nose of oranges, grapefruit and some grain, almost cracker-like. Pleasant, but not particularly aromatic. Taste definitely gives a good presence of orange flesh and tropical fruit. Has a firm bitterness, but not astringent. Some grain comes through as well. It has an interesting blend of almost sweet fruit flavors and then moves into a bitter finish. Medium bodied, sits on the tongue nicely and then finishes nice and dry. I'm a little torn here; I like the beer, it's very well made (no astringency, no alcohol coming through), but even though my score feels honest, it doesn't fully paint the picture. I'll have to revisit this beer if I'm lucky enough to do so. I'm still very excited to try anything else (especially IPA's) made by Hill Farmstead; the quality of brewing is there.

2L growler poured into a cigar city snifter.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow/amber with a small yellow head and nice white lacing.

Taste is phenomenal, very light, fresh lemon and citrus. Mouthfeel is really light and crisp, super drinkable and tasty. No idea it's 8%.

Thanks, baconsausage!

A truly gorgeous IPA. A slightly hazed, glowing, golden orange. Moderate, large-bubbled, eggwhite-colored head. Lots of stick left down the glass. Truly gorgeous, as are most Hill Farmstead beers.

Very citrus-forward aroma, as expected. Bright, juicy tangerine and clementine aromas erupt from the glass. Just a hint of a biscuit malt, but this is a showcase of hops, to be sure. There's just a touch of a green onion or chive character, interestingly enough, and though it's not distracting from the overall experience, I wish it wasn't there.

The flavor is even more successful than the proven aroma. Bitter and juicy citrus and tropical flavors come together very nicely. A little bread. No alcohol presence. If I were given this blind, I'd probably guess it was a ~6% ABV IPA.

Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Very appropriate. Extremely drinkable.

Fantastic. Would drink again...durrrr.
