Huge thanks to imagineiii and aapp for bottles of this. Can't wait to see how it evolves.

Served in a Hill Farmstead long-stem tulip.

Pours a slightly-hazed light golden color with a huge, frothy white head with great retention and really nice lacing on the way down. Sheet of lacing. The nose brings some light acidity and lemon plus a bit of citrus. Some tropical fruit and wheat as well. The flavor has a nice bit of earth and light funk plus a very faint lemony acidity. Great hop presence and a bit of Brett. Really fantastically blended. Simply awesome.

Another AshleyMiller joint. Served in a Hill Farmstead glass.

A - Looks pretty similar to CD#1. This one was a slow gusher, and there's a tad bit more foam. The roused yeast results in a slightly murkier body, and it's a shade lighter as well.

S - Smells like lemons - I'm guessing as a result of the hops and brettanomyces-laden Jolly Pumpkin dregs. Unfortunately it's a slightly artificial and chemical lemon flavor that I associate with Pledge. There's some residual herbal hop flavors, suntan lotion, as well as a earthy, dirty funk - perhaps a hint of soiled diaper.

T - The taste thankfully loses some of the chemical lemon character and replaces it with grainy pale malt flavor - guessing that is from the Clara? The flavors seem to coalesce better here, with a decent combination of wheat, dusty brett, lemon, and herbs. Somewhat understated, although relatively flavorful for such a low ABV beer.

M - Nice medium body heft considering the ABV. Super dry, with pleasant, soft carbonation. Even though the flavor profile is a bit of a miss this is still quite nice on the palate.

D - Not a bad beer, by any stretch, but a disappointment considering its pedigree. The worst of the series, and probably the only Hill Farmstead beer I've had that actually had off-putting elements in play. I'd rather have Clara, Edward, or Jolly Pumpkin beers on their own.

Thanks Michael for sharing this recently. Beer served in a Fantome glass.

Beer is yellow, light, hazy, with a big white head of small bubbles, decent retention, some lacing, moderate carbonation.

Aroma is lemony, sweet, mildly lactic, interesting.

Beer is super light in body, mildly dry on the finish, midpalate is a little creamy with strong citrus notes on the center with leading sourness and tart at the back, a nice little interesting beer.

From 11/05/11 notes. Big thanks to whoever shared this one at Geist's birthday tasting (I think yourefragile or craytonic? either way, thanks!). Poured into a snifter.

a - Pours a hazy pale yellow color with two fingers of fluffy white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells citrus hops, lemon, floral hops, some earthy and grassy notes, and oranges. Nose reminds me a bit of Vera Mae with the oranges, and I think it is really great.

t - Tastes of citrus hops, lightly bitter, light floral hops, earthy notes, and yeast. Light dirt as well. Nice, I'd say a slight step down from Vera Mae and the nose.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Some light bitterness, but overall easy to drink.

o - Overall another really nice saison from Hill Farmstead. I liked Vera Mae slightly better, but this is still a great beer I'd love to have again.

750 mL bottle opened at the end of our Fantome tasting. Blend of Clara, Edward and some JP dregs I believe?

Hazy light golden color with a massive frothy white head with exceptional lacing and retention. Aroma is lemon, grassy and light citrus, with some wheat and earthiness. Light and dry body with a slight lactic lemon finish. Crisp, refreshing flavor, hoppy and lemony. Earthy and grassy flavors balance out the fruitiness. Wasn't super excited for this blend, but in execution this is really nice.

Bottle shared by yourefragile. Thanks Michael. Civil Disobedience 1-3 side by side.

The beer is hazy and pale yellow hued with a towering, white, frothy head. The aroma offers citrus, lemon, grass. The flavor brings forth a nice citrus character, with additional notes of earth, wheat, light funk. Light in body and easy drinking. A delicate hop bitterness in the finish with a bit of sour funk. Overall, I enjoyed this brew. Well done.

Bottle split with Arthur. Snifter.

A: Straw yellow with perfect clarity and a mountain of white sea foam. Retention is impressive and lacing is all over the glass.

S: I get some straw with pronounced lemon notes. There's a little earth-like funk with leather and a touch of mineral. Phenols are lightly spicy and reminiscent of pepper. Floral notes are evident.

T: Wheat, straw, and earth with a light mineral presence and a touch of leather. There's a faint pepper-like spiciness. There's a good deal of lemon in the flavor. The finish has a light bitterness.

M: Light in body with lower high carbonation.

Overall: Nice stuff. Highly drinkable...dare I say sessionable? Regardless, it rids one of one's perishing thirst.

Thanks, Alex. Poured into tulip.

A - Pours a mirky orange/yellow color, white head, spotty lace.

S - Pretty funk & yeast-foward, big bretty saison, nice herbal and bread notes, some citrus in there too. This is a funky brett bomb with some of the other notes really secondary to the yeasty funk.

T - Light bitterness that's pretty much gone now, lots of funk, hay, grass, citrus lemon/orange peel. The herbal and floral notes are a little more prevalent on the palate when compared to the nose, which is nice. The finish is slight lemon peel/citrus and herbal notes that balance out nicely.

M - Light body, high carbonation, clean/dry finish.

O - This is a nice blend, but not quite as good as I was hoping for. The carbonation is a little too much right now, but I imagine that's the bugs doing their work. Looking forward to see how this continues to evolve over time. Good stuff.

Reviewed from notes from 1/11/14
Thanks for sharing Skrip!

A- Pours a bright, hazy orange with a huge plume of white foam that leaves lots of lacing. Head retains great!

S- Smells intensely of brett funk, horse blanket, and wheat. Some subtle bright citrus as well. A touch of spiciness.

T- The brett funk and spiciness are really what dominate here. The barnyard hay funkiness and horse blanket are big players, along with a lot of wheat and spice. There's only the slightest hint of citrus, but really all the flavors are pretty subtle.

M- the mouth feel is super carbonated, medium thickness, and very dry.

O- Overall this was a very nice blended saison, but it could have been a bit more bold/complex flavor wise. I know saisons tend to be subtle, but this was almost bland at points. It was still very pleasant and easy to drink.
