750 mL bottle poured into a plastic cup.

Appearance - Pale golden orange. Big white head. Laces beautifully even in the plastic cup.

Smell - Wine barrel. Yeasty. Some pale malts. Some light fruitiness.

Taste - Light tartness. Very yeasty, almost bitter. Pale malt. Some mild grassiness. Wine barrel is fainter.

Mouthfeel - Medium high carbonation. Lightly tart. Drinkable I suppose.

Overall - Doesn't reach the heights of complexity that the othet Civil Disobedience beers do, but good.

Bottle pour at mrbubbler's tasting.

Bottled Winter 2011.

Pours a hazy light yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, spice, wine, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with floral, spice, and wine flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with an interesting floral presence in the flavor.

750ml bottle poured into a Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass.

A~ bright glowing neon yellow/orange with a nice white fluffy head and a tad of lacing.

S~ lemony tartness, black and white pepper, bready saison yeast and white wine barrel funk on the finish.

T~ pretty much follows the nose with some floral notes here, probably from the dandelions from Vera Mae. not too much else going on.

M~ amazing carbonation, very smooth, but definitely a little thin...

O~ not bad but definitely the worst i've had of the series. i have a feeling these weren't aged in the bareel for very long. the wine barrel funk isn't as present as i would like it to be. don't know why its so thin as well but i've never had the 2011 versions of either Arthur or Vera Mae. but the more recent version of Vera Mae is my favorite seasonal saison for sure so this is all very surprising to me.

Bottle poured into a Hill Farmstead taster.

Pour: Pale, hazy orange with two fingers of fluffy, sticky white head. Lots of lacing through the glass.

Smell: Big funk up front, with an almost blue cheese like aspect. Very earthy and some barnyard notes. Quite a bit of white pepper and a touch of white wine. Finishes with a light lemon and pear

Taste: Bright lemon tartness and white wine up front that immediately mix with white pepper and some floral aspects. Lots of earthy funk through the finishes mixes with oak and a light lemon tartness.

Mouthfeel: Really quick drinkable, and supremely dry. Light tartness.

Overall: This was really enjoyable, but definitely not as good as CD5.
