On tap at Teresa's in Wayne, PA.

Pours a hazy, straw golden color with an abundant fluffy white head and moderate retention. Aroma and flavor of this reminded me most of a ("good") bottle of Fantome Saison than any other HF saison to date had. Given the recipe and execution, this reminds me of Anna but exceeds any sample that I've had (edit: The late 2012 releases of Anna are more like Myth). Earthy, funky, peachy and citrusy in nose and flavor with a touch of sweetness. Full medium body with strong carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. Lovely saison.

Served in Hill Farmstead stemware. Delicious. Great wheat and firm bitterness. Light hay and a touch of peach. Really nice saison with a good wheat base. Hill Farmstead touch. Excellent; hope this comes around again, once I'm finally able to make it back up to Hill Farmstead.

Draft at The Boilermaker in Philadelphia, PA.

Pours a cloudy, pale golden straw color with a two finger frothy white head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Large chunks of soapy lacing left behind.

Earthy, funky aroma with a decent amount of earthy hops and sweetness to counter the funky yeast notes. Musty and earthy with a nice farmhouse character that's followed  by earthy, grassy hops, light fruit and sweet honey.

Medium bodied but on the fuller end with a blast of dank, earthy hops that provide nice bitterness that compliments the funky, grassy saison yeast notes.  Some sweetness from the honey and light fruit notes with A slight boozy presence in the finish.  I think this beer would benefit from having less hop flavor but it's still really solid.

On draft at Capone's near Philadelphia. Review from notes.

The beer is quite hazy, appearing a yellowish (perhaps slightly orange) straw hue. Atop the beer rests a nice, fluffy white head that leaves ample lacing in its wake.

The aroma offers citrus, lemons, hops, spice, clove. Very inviting.

Beautifully balanced with fresh citrus and hops, followed by a touch of sourdough bread, lightly spiced.

Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Delicious and easy to drink.

Quite tasty. It was delightful to savor a fresh pour of this.

On tap, served in a snifter, reviewed from notes. Beer is yellow with a mild haze, a white head, large and medium bubbles, moderate carbonation, some retention. Looks good.

Aroma is sweet, floral, honey, bright.

Beer is sweet and floral with a great yeast palate and a good semi-dry finish. The honey is very forward in this beer, very strong very nice. I'd have it again, although I heard a rumor that this is going to be rebranded as "Anne" in the future.

Served on-tap at Tired Hands as well as Teresa's Next Door during Philly Beer Week. I thought my glass at Tired Hands was better, probably because nobody was standing onto of me.

A - Pours a beautiful golden yellow with a dense one and a half finger tall white head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving small trails of lace down parts of the glass.

S - Citric fruits and piney hops blend with the typical farmhouse ale aromas of clove, wheat and light funk to form an interesting combination. Goes a tad dull toward the end.

T - The flavors of this one are really similar to the nose with a bit more hops coming thru in the taste. A bit lighter than I thought it would be but the flavors are still great. Finish is a tad chewy but it doesn't linger for very long.

M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. The hoppy, funky, chewy feel is awesome, it does goes a little flat toward the end but overall an awesome feel.

O - Not the typical saison for sure but a really solid saison none the less. I have had hop forward saisons before and this may be the best of the lot.

On tap at Teresa's. I sampled this beer after the Wachu saison from Grassroots brewing, and while this was a nice beer, I thought it paled in comparison to that excellent beer.

The beer pours a golden amber color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is textbook saison, as I pick up clove, light honey, a hint of sour tartness and some light spice. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, though there's some light hoppy bitterness as well, which I thought tended to keep the modest sweetness in check. Mouthfeel is on the light side, and I thought this beer came across as light, fairly crisp, and refreshing. Alcohol is pretty much unnoticeable in this beer.

A solid beer, no doubt, but I really didn't find anything particularly distinguishing about it either. Probably would not order this one again (especially if the wachu was on tap at the same time again).

S - Fresh, herbal, lemon, bread.

T - Same as the smells but with some nice belgian yeast tang. Not very bitter in the aftertaste.

M - Light body and medium carbonation. Very crisp.

O - A very enjoyable brew.

On Tap at Teresa's Next Door for beer week 2012.

Myth of Saison comes off the spout foamy, once settled the liquid is a light copper golden color with a nice firm bright white head with lasting retention. This one makes etches of stick on the glass. Very impressive looking. The nose is very citrus forward with floral quality and Belgian saison yeast backing with much warming. Some light spice comes through with big sniffs and imagination with the hops in the way. Taste is nice. I am digging it, should go well with some light cheese portions. Get some light mango and papaya with thyme, light pepper and a small bready yeasty backing. Some orange flavor and more saison characteristics with warming. The feel is light bodied and made for drinking, carb is there but minimal. Overall, a nice saison with a lot of tropical characteristics. This defies styles a bit, but the outcome is great.
