Bottled 05 2013 batch 6

Pours a hazy and very dark golden yellow color with orange/banana colored hues and a one finger white head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind.

The aroma is kind of bland with a decent spice and earthy funk presence. Subtle oak and earthy funky along with barnyard, grassy hops, straw, peppery spice and light fruit. Opens up a little as it warms but the nose isn't too inviting.

Much more interesting than it smells with soft carbonation and a nice balance of oak barrel, musty, grassy funk, zesty spice, sweet citrus and light fruit. Dry oak/toothpick but it's not overwhelming with hints of white pepper and ginger, citrus zest, apple and pear. Well balanced and easy to drink. Pretty complex and much better than anticipated.

Hill Farmstead Civil Disobedience from a 12 oz bottle to a small snifter.
Has more clarity than expected but a weak head.
Wild ale here, but not challenging (as many are for me). Very Tart. Fruity (non-specific). Slifght hint of vinegar.

O: excellent for style.
