500ml bottle with pressure cap.
bottle date of 10/2013.
Split 3 ways with my local beer crew into 3 HF Wine Stems.
Appearance:black bodied beer with thin brown cap from a moderately hard pour.
Smell:Milk chocolate bomb mixing with bourbon, dry oak, moderate roast, and light smoke notes. Overall the beer is a more sweet smelling dessert stout.
Taste: Milk chocolates, fudge, and caramel; rich, but mellow top shelf bourbon, vanilla beans, marshmellow, and coconut. Maybe a hint of coffee, but it seems like an after thought rather than being a pronounced flavor in this beer. Smoke comes out in the aftertaste. Such flawless balance and integration from this stout. All the flavors of this stout are deep, rich, and complex.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with low carbonation. Perfect amount of bubbles that make this stout creamy and lucious; coating the palate after the first sip. Very very smooth drinking stout. Not a hint of booze at all.
Overall: This is definately my favorite BA stout from Hill Farmstead. The balance and deep complexity with a near flawless mouthfeel makes this a world class stout.
