From the German word for “Bright”, our golden lager displays a floral hop aroma with a bready malt balance. Traditional in style, Helles is brewed with Pilsner Malt to produce a dry, snappy finish while Perle and Tettnanger hops create a spicy, herbal hop aroma. The result is an incredibly clean, yet complex, lager.

On draft at The Farmhouse Tap and Grill.
a: Clerar dark gold, no head or lacing.
s: Nothing I could detect.
t: Lager malt with slight pearlike note. Dry finish,.
m: Light to moderate. Good body.
o: Light and refreshing enough for the style, but the flavor is very similar to any number of better mainstream lagers.
UPDATE 5/8/17: Now in 12 oz. bottles, included in their variety twelvepack. aroma is biscuit, as is the flavor. Appreciate the quality in this better than in my first review, more biscuit malt presence than the mainstream adjunct lagers. Raising the smell, taste, mouthfeel and overall from 3.25-3.5 to 3.75.

An acceptable summer swill. Fairly refreshing but otherwise unimpressive.
Better then their so-called "pilsner". But not by much.

A great exaple of the German Helles style.

I suspect I’ve tasted examples of Helles style beer before in Germany or elsewhere without knowing it. But this is the first time I’ve ever tried it just to see if I liked it. So I’m not a well-informed reviewer, but I do like the beer quite a bit. The flavor doesn’t appeal to me like Trapp’s Bohemian Pilsner, but I will most definitely be buying it again. Very crisp and refreshing and a pretty beer to look at, with its deep gold color.

Decent beer - nothing flashy or splashy, but a reliable representative of the style. Floral and herbal aromas suggestive of fresh grains and open fields, some chewy malts impressions and a relatively clean finish. Amply carbonated and smooth, light on the palate. Worth checking out.
