Our Oak Aged Imperial Red has intriguing aromas of oak and mocha. Creamy malt flavors of caramel and chocolate create a complex flavor balanced with hop bitterness.

From old, undated notes. Had on draft.
See-through red color.
Nice off-white head; strong lacing.
Sweet hops in the nose; inviting.
Medium mouthfeel.
The flavor is almost impossibly complex: raspberry, chocolate, caramel, sweet fruits. Somehow this all comes together in a delicious finish. A nice hop bite on the lips.
Bravo. One of the best beers I've ever had.

$?
Deep amber to brown in color with an 1/8 inch of residual head.
Nose is a bit of malt, chocolate, and minor hops.
Taste is sweet oak, malt, raisin, caramel, and minor hops on the finish.
Mouthful is medium and smooth. Carbonation is average. Finish is semi sweet.
An interesting beer, almost reminiscent of a barleywine. A bit hoppy, a bit sweet, a bit oaky. A nice beer to drink and share.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into a wide tulip. Dark copper color with an inch of foamy beige head that dissipates fairly quickly. Nice lacing.
Aroma is caramel, toffee, oak, dark berries, raisin, chocolate. Not much hop aroma at all. I get a lot more chocolate aroma as it warms up.
Slightly sticky body, rich flavor. Oak is slightly more pronounced. Raisiny malt sweetness is balanced by a slightly citrusy hop on the sides of the tongue and a well balanced bitter finish with hop and dark chocolate.
Really enjoyable imperial red, probably one of my favorites in the style.
