Went on Friday April 2nd with my girlfriend.
Usually eat at 202 or Nawab in downtown Roanoke, but wanted to try something different.
Waiter was a little frazzled and didn't know what was on draft. Then when he reported what was on draft (Blue Moon, SA Noble Pils, and Terrapin Big Hoppy Monster), he essentially regurgitated what the bartender told him about the beers. Ordered a terrapin, since I'd never had it on draft or seen a place with it on draft. They also had a good selection of bottles, ranging from Belgians to some local brews as well as usual macros and larger craft like Sam Adams. Beer came in a tall pilsner like glass. Tasted great and decided I would need another one later (first was 2 bucks for happy hour and the second was 5).
Ordered a "Bacon, Egg, and Cheese" (braised pork belly, parmesan soup and sunny-side quail egg). Basically a bowl of amazing heart attack soup. For entrees we ordered Beer and BBQ Short Ribs ($22, Beer braised and bbq finished short ribs with white bean stew and jalapeno-cheddar hushpuppies) and Crab Cake w Cajun remoulade ($28, with smoked gouda and prociutto mac n cheese and grilled asparagus). Short ribs fell off the bone and were hard to stop from shoveling in my mouth. Hushpuppies were a bit cakey but real good flavor and nice when dipped in the bbq sauce. GF's crab cake was lots of crab and not a lot of filler, mac and cheese was definitely some of the best I'v had.
The place was not too busy on a friday night, had a few tables for outside seating, but our waiter was dealing with 4 tables as he seemed to be the only one there. Worthy of a second trip, if not for food at least for a look at what was on draft.
