Pours a slightly hazy dark orange with a medium head that fades to a swirl and ring. Smells slightly sweet and grainy with a modicum of citrusy hops. The taste is also a bit on the sweet side with slightly subdued citrusy hops as well. A little thick and grainy in the mouth, this could use a bit more work- needs to be cleaner, smoother, and hoppier.

Very see-through rust color.
Nice white head; strong lacing.
Bitter grapefruit smell; not a great sign for me.
Thin mouthfeel.
A bitter bomb, no fruit accents at all. Not a winner to me.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has an orange/beige color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of caramel malts. Taste is also malty, slightly sweet, light hops in the background, not much in the way of bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer, but drinks much more like and English IPA than an American one.

Forced pour produced this little disinterested fizzy head that ends up floating like a lazy winger on top of this coppery bronze beer.
Nose full of caramel and very little else.
Taste is following the nose until a tangy bitter sets in. Think to medium bodied with a lingering bitter aftertaste with just a bit of sweetness.
At best this is mediocre beer that has a nice dating information, so I can only assume that this is the intended product. It is also contact brewed by Thomas Creek, so who knows what the overall intent was here.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass tulip. This is a copper colored beer with a medium sized white head.
The taste is pretty good with a nice caramel flavor;
The aroma is big on malt and caramel with maybe some citrus in the background.
The Palate is medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall- A pretty solid IPA, I would drink this again.

O'Dempsey's "Inukshuk IPA"
12 oz. brown glass bottle, contracted through Thomas Creek Brewery, date code is illegible
Notes: Hazy deep amber-copper beneath a rocky head of light khaki that holds very well and leaves some thin streaks of lace. Good appearance overall. Limited aroma with light to medium caramelish malt that's infused with floral and herbal hops. The flavor is the same with the addition of some light pine/mint. Solid bitterness. Some yeastiness, and a mild apple-like fruitiness. Dry, lingering finish.

Poured from a 12 oz brown bottle into a clear glass tulip. No freshness date. Received as a gift from little sister Tami.
A: Light copper with 1-2 fingers of off-white, foamy head with decent retention and some webs of lacing down the glass.
S: Very malty and caramelly with some light citrus and pine notes. Too malty for an Am IPA.
T: THe flavor is more reminiscent of an English IPA with big medium crystal caramel malty notes that equal if not overwhelm the light orange citrus and floral hops notes. There is a touch of pine in there too. Overall though. this is way too slanted to the malt for the style.
M: I would not call this thin at all -- the feel is above-average for the style with a fairly sticky mouthfeel with lowish carbonation and medium-dry finish. Not bad for a malt-dominated beer.
O: I think this beer would score a lot better as an English IPA or Imperial Amber or some other style -- this is way too malty to be an Am IPA that competes with the likes of Two Hearted, Alesmith, Alpine Duet and Nelson, BR Racer 5, etc. Not a bad beer but they took balance a little too far.
