Shared with zhanson88...thanks for bringing this back to GF to share.
A- Cloudy, hazy, unfiltered golden hue. Still is a good looking IPA. Fast-receding head with average lacing. As a growler-fill off the tap, I'd hope that it pours better on draft, but it's still a good looking beer.
S- Loads of tropical, passionfruit aromas with citrus rind on the back end. Citrus is definitely present, but the melon and tropical aroma of the hops dominates for me.
T- Takes off where the aroma left off. Melon, mango, and citrus dominate the flavor. For a hefty IIPA, is it overall fairly balanced, the alcohol presence makes itself more noticeable as the beer warms. Not insanely bitter, but the bitterness is defintely there. Orange rind and lemon zest in the bitterness followed up with a nice dose of malt character.
M- Not the most drinkable IIPA out there, and I would like the abv% to drop a point or two, but this is still a good IIPA. I struggled to finish 2 glasses of this beer.
O- A great beer from probably the best brewery in Montana. Glad I got to taste this.

Blackfoot River lists this as a seasonal (to my knowledge, the first time it has been brewed). To say the least, I hope they continue to brew this every year. Better yet, make it full time.
Appearance: Pours a hazy golden honey color with 1/2" of off-white head. Pretty good retention considering the ABV, and decent lacing.
Smell: A great deal of citrus on the nose. Orange and grapefruit rind, with great hints of mango as well. A big dankness is also present that hints at the 100 IBUs this beer packs. Pretty impressive.
Taste: Maybe a hint of pale malt sweetness up front, but that is quickly overshadowed. Orange and grapefruit rind, mango, and melon basically explode on the palate. The hop presence is little to no pine, mostly just dankness (and a lot of it). Finish is excellent, with citrus and dankness and no alcohol.
Mouthfeel/Overall: Just below medium bodied, with fairly fine carbonation. Pretty good, but I would prefer it to be a bit creamier. Still, more than acceptable. After having this both on tap and out of a growler, I am damn impressed. The citra hops in this are killer. Blackfoot River is the best brewery in MT, in my opinion, so I figured this would be good. But they knocked it out of the ballpark here. Again, brew this stuff year round. Please.
