This is my after work hang and after a few years of being a regular I am happy to say that TDA is still the best place for beer in all of Los Angeles. The new patio can't be beat and the food specials are always a delicious bargain.
My man Jim behind the bar always keeps it real and always has a good suggestion. Yesterday he recommended a beer called Saber Tooth Squirrel, something I wouldn't order on principal alone, and it was fantastic.
I enjoy the mellow vibe and the laid back crowd almost as much as the monster beer list filled top to bottom with old favorites and things you've never heard of.

Read the hype and wasn't a believer, but I am now!
Here's the deal with this place:
It's a stand alone bar far from any other restaurants or bars on Magnolia, not too far from I-5. Parking is easy in front or on the streets on both sides. It's in a quiet area and this is the only sign of life.
It has a cool deco exterior with a big lit up sign that reads, "now pouring" and TONY'S.
Inside it's configured like bars you've been in. Long bar to the right, little tables to the left with a pool table in the back. It's nicely lit, not too dark and not too bright. It feels like it could be anywhere in the USA with wood paneled walls, beer signs, a couple of TV's and little kitchen in the back.
If you get there early, I suggest grabbing a stool at the bar. It'll get you quicker service and the staff is very cool and happy to give tasters and talk beer or anything else.
Everything about this place is top notch. The beer, the food, the staff, the vibe, the parking, the activities, the prices, the chairs, the beer, yeah that's right, I said it twice.
These guys are committed to California beer which is great with me because there is so much to choose from and I like the idea of drinking fresh beer and supporting the local economy.
The only complaint I have is that the second time I went, I couldn't find a seat for almost half an hour. It's tough to eat standing up, but busy usually means good and this place delivers. I've been told that Friday's are always packed like that, and I could see why. There were lots of young co-eds, which is not the norm for beer bars around here.
Here's the low down on Tony's Darts Away: Friday nights it's packed. Saturdays, it is easy to get service and table space and there seems to be a good mix of ladies and gents, beer geeks and and not so geekys, and of old and young.
All other nights its pretty easy to get in and find a seat.
My wife is vegetarian and loves the vegan food. I can't get enough of those sweet potato fries.
I was lucky enough to stumble in on Hangar 24 brewery night. I never heard of that brewery before but I was blown away by the quality of the beer and the vast variety. I got to meet the brewer too, very cool.
Overall, I consider this place to be the as good as it gets. I see many visits to Burbank in my future.

I freaking love this place. You will too. I really think there's not other explanation needed. This is Burbank's premiere venue for craft beer... the closest competition is another place Tony owns... Golden Road Brewery's brew pub a few miles away.
Tony's only serves California brewed beers. At first I was worried that they might run out of options for me... but that was dumb. They have over 40 beers on draft, half of them IPAs (gotta love that) and it never gets old. They have a constant rotation, there is always something new. You really can't beat this place. On top of that, Tony is really a great guy. He's always smiling and saying hi.
As for the food... It is very Vegan oriented. But like the IPAs taking up 50% of the beer selection, vegan only takes up 50% of the food. Point being: Carnivores welcome. I'm no where near a vegan but now I find myself ordering some of their vegan sausages because it's not easy to tell the difference. I wish they had a bigger selection of sides, but I don't want to split hairs.
If I had one wish, it'd be to expand the place. People love it there and it's not always easy to find a seat. Even if we stand up, we're always satisfied.

Had thought I had already reviewed TDA, but apparently not. Will keep this somewhat short, since I agree with pretty much everything in the positive reviews on TDA.
Great Tap Selection, some of them are consistently on Tap. Scrimshaw comes to mind, but there are many others. They also are very good about updating the tap list online, as well as in the bar just about daily.
Prices for flights are good at $8, as they as for pints, and half glasses. The pints, tulips, & snifters are honest, as is the clean rinse of the glass wear prior to the pour. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They also keep a healthy supply of back up kegs in a second cold box, & you never know what they might just bust out when a keg pops ( as an example, Deliverance)
This place is the real deal. The theme of All craft, all draft, and all California is something I personally love, as I support local. The Vegan options are ideal for me, being vegetarian, and I greatly appreciate it. The sweet potato fries are awesome as well. I wish TDA many years of success. I hope they one day are able to expand the Burbank location, or perhaps even open one in the west Valley.

Had to, had to, HAD TO stop by this place when in the area last week. This was my #1 stop on our quick trip to the area. I now wish I would have gone everyday. Really cool looking building from the outside, but smaller than I thought. As others have noted, the parking is free on the street. We parked about half a block away which was nice. Nice bar that seats maybe 15-20 people. Small tables scattered throughout. A lone pool table and a lone dart board in the back. For having "Darts" in the name, I figured there would be more dart boards available. Ah well, it was free so we played for about an hour. Their tap list was nothing short of amazing. All beers are from CA, and half of them (about 20) are IPAs. I'm in heaven. The service was excellent. Friendly, but not overly so. Got our drinks quickly and in the correct glassware, which is always a bonus. We just missed Pliny, which was my biggest disappointment from our trip, but it was a small price to pay for such an awesome establishment. Were I a local, I would hit this place up constantly. A bar any city would be proud to have.

Tony's Darts is a cool bar to check out in the Burbank area. The bar features about 20+ taps of California-only beers. On the menu, the first page lists "IPAs" (e.g. Mongo, PtE, Hopsickle, etc.) and the following page lists "Not IPAs" (e.g. Speedway Stout, Anchor Christmas, Old Guardian, etc.). You can pretty much see what the place specializes in. The bar also serves vegan-friendly foods, along with dishes to satisfy meat-lovers too. Around the bar, you'll find many ways to entertain yourself. There's a jukebox, pool table, darts, and almost every board game known to mankind. The bartenders are very helpful, and they acknowledge patronage. Any night is a good time at Tony's Darts Away!

Of course, AFTER I move out of the Valley, it get's it's very own legit craft beer bar! I shan't complain. No sir...because it's worth the trip back.
This is it, folks. 100% quality selection, service and even bar food. The interior is a refurbished dive bar (that used to be called Darts Away...hmm), and the make-shift wooden paneling of the bar and layout of the place definitely hint back towards it's beginnings, of which the non-pretentious, kick-back attitude still exude from: the dart board and pool table are now joined by boxes of games like chess and connect four; the walls and uncovered air vents decorated in brewery's bumper stickers.
Do not be fooled by the decorum, however. The IPA-centric (like the Golden State, they focus on Cali-made beers and food) beer selection will make any hop-fan's eyes tear up...possibly run like a faucet, as it is constantly rotating a wide variety of California IPA's; some of which - I'm going to say it - I had never heard of before visiting this last time. This is not to say that the other half of their tap menu (as well as their 2 cask engines) don't offer equally rare and interesting craft beers. The selection is all-in-all everything a beer geek would want and the service (esPECIALLY the management) are right there with you. Takes one to serve one.
Food wise, I'm a huge fan. They keep it simple with local, organic sausages and salads and make pains to cater to the ever-increasing vegan/veggie crowd. I am neither of these, but I have many beer loving friends who are...and I very much appreciate that TDA doesn't stop thinking past its (admittedly) excellent focus on beer.
It get's wicked crowded between 8 and 10 almost every night: so get there early, or be prepared to stand around some friendly people while sipping your first beer waiting for a table to clear. Believe me, tho...it's worth the wait!

This place was definitely the highlight of my 10 day trip to southern CA. The bartender was great, the selection was amazing. In west coast fashion, they have an an entire section devoted to IPA's. The atmosphere is laid back, with tons of beer and brewing books laying around to look at. I had spent a week looking around LA and San Diego for some bottles to bring back to Iowa, and after a couple hours at Tony's I had the lead on where to find everything I was looking for. The beer is great and the conversation is better. I will be going back if I'm ever in Burbank again.

Not only do they have over 30 California beers on tap, they are only $4.50-$6.00 for a real pint. They also do flights and half pints which in nice. The food is awesome, especially the sweet potato fries. They even have vegan food that I could actually swallow.
They have a good mix of tables and bar seats. There's a pool table and a dart board of course and 3 tvs. Not only do they have books you can check out, they have games to play like Connect Four and Trivial Pursuit. Its a good place to have lunch and they allow children up until a certain time. Not only the best bar in Burbank probably my favorite in the San Fernando Valley.
