Pale ale fermented with papaya and habaneros provide an ideal mixture of pleasure spike with pain.

Not sure what to make of this beer. On the one hand it was creative and unique and I applaud this great local brewery for taking a risk. But I feel that the combination of tropical flavors and Mexican spice just didn’t hold up well. Pours a nice darker yellow color with lots of fluffy white head and a little spotty lingering lacing. Smells predominately of tropical papaya, a little mango and some nice malt. Tastes similarly except there’s definitely a moderate hit of spicy habanero pepper along with some caramel, vanilla, herbal hops and malt. Nice thin mild mouthfeel with good carbonation. Again, not my favorite combination of flavors and even though I like papaya this beer was just a little too cloyingly sweet.

A - Cloudy and golden/honey color. A noticeable amount of sediment settles in the glass.
S - A little bit of pine, but otherwise it was pretty bland. Possibly a touch of fruit, but I didn't get any of the mango, papaya, etc., that I was hoping for.
T - Not very sweet with only a slight hint of fruit. The habanero was definitely there and prominent on the back of the palate as it finished.
M - Average...nothing exciting
O - It had some spicy habanero flavor, but otherwise this was pretty forgettable. Probably the most appealing thing about it was the appearance, which isn't much of an endorsement for a beer.

This poured with way too much foam with a normal pour. Good smell of citrus and tropical fruits. Papaya stands out. Flavor is same as nose, but some heat on the end. I actually quite liked the base beer. Reminded me a lot of the new stone sorry not sorry. The heat is mild, but I don't know if it fits. Wonder if they bottle just the tasty base beer.
