The Odd Side CPA is pretty good...not as good as other Citra hopped beer I've had tho. The beer poured a golden clear with white head that left a nice lace. The scent carried the typical citra combo of pine and citrus. The taste was ok....there is a slight twang that was present...and is typical of several brews produced in Michigan...Shorts has it too. Not sure if its the malt being used or what. The balance was decent....perhaps a bit heavy on the malt side as the citra hop couldn't fully come through. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was good and I would have it again.

12oz bottle from IAmJacksHopTongue (nice extra, thanks man!). Assuming it's Julian dating on the bottom of the bottle- bottled 9/24/13 (2673). Served in a Terrapin goblet.

Pours hazy orange gold with a half finger of white head. Recedes to thin wisps on the surface with a healthy halo that laces nicely.

Smells of bright tangerines, a little melon, strawberry and sweet bread.

Taste follows to nose for the most part. A nice pop of tangy oranges up front with paypaya, bitter citrus rind, berries, melon, sugar-dusted biscuit and a hint of pine. Quite a nice blend.

Semi-slick, light-to-medium feel with appropriately healthy carbonation. Lightly bitter pine and pleasantly sweet fruit aftertaste. This stuff is very easy to drink.

I'm not much of a Pale Ale drinker but this isn't terribly far below Zombie Dust in being one that I'll happily down any time. A smooth, highly quaffable and thouroughly enjoyable brew.

On-tap at the awesome Ashley's in Ann Arbor. Tasted 12 November 2013. Reviewed from notes.

First time I had it the appearance was off, I think due to it being the initial pour from a new keg. Had it again a couple days later, and it was a lot better. A clear pale amber orange. Brought with 1 finger of dense small-bubble whitish head; good retention, leaves excellent lacing as I drink it.

Smell is a burst of bright citra hops. Orange and grapefruit, with an unobtrusive base that's apparent mostly from the lack of emptiness. The initial smell is awesome, but it fades as I drink it

Taste is clean and crisp, fading to slightly bitter. It gets a little muddy in the finish, but mostly it's a dry grainy clarity. Slowly declines to a medium mildly bitter pale ale.

Feel is the low point. Kinda, with not enough carbonation. The first pour I had looked like swamp water, and this feels like it, too.

This beer reminds me a little of PseudoSue and Zombie Dust. It can't come close to those two masterpieces, but it's pretty darn good. I find myself liking it less as I drink it, though.

Thanks Pelagic for this extra! A little over 3 months old, 12 oz bottle poured into a Speigelau tulip.

Pours a cloudy orange/amber body with a pure white fluffy head, great retention and lacing.

Smell is zesty, orange, piney, a little sweet, was probably more aromatic when fresh.

Taste is good citra flavor hops of lemon, orange, piney, with a light malt backbone, moderate bitterness, lingering taste is bitter.

Mouthfeel is crisp and light, dry finish, moderate carbonation, very refreshing.

Very refreshing and enjoyable APA that is a great change of pace from big malty boozy brews that dominate the market these days. Easy to throw back a few of these without feeling to much palate fatigue or getting too buzzed. Big fan of this one.

12oz bottle, no bottling date, given to me by David. So probably about 3-4 weeks old at this point. Poured into a Surly Darkness goblet today, 11/1/2013.

Pours a fairly dark amber body, dark for a pale ale, with a nice white head that slowly dissipates into a thick film on top. Looks good. Some lacing here and there, nothing special.

Smells grapefruity balanced out by a biscuity and bready sweetness. Mostly grapefruits with a dab of pine. Kind of one dimensional.

Tastes grapefruity and dank, but a bit more biscuity and bready than I prefer. There isn't that juicy flavour that comes with Hill Farmstead pale ales or TG pseudoSue. This is closer to Zombie Dust than the others. This is kind of a fairly lesser executed Zombie Dust really.

Medium bodied, resinous. A bit bitter on the back end with a bit of pine. No heat, pretty drinkable.

Standard citra pale ale offering, comes nowhere near Zombie Dust or pseudoSue. Still, this is a great deal for the price and if you live in Michigan, this is a decent and reasonably priced substitute for when you're all out of Zombie Dust.
