Had a pint of this on tap. At first it tasted a little weird (the taste of coffee is usually found in stouts), but this was a lighter and even crisper beer. The more I drank the more it was refreshing and paired well with my bar food. I'm not sure how many of these I would order in one night, but I'd order another if given the chance.

L: Golden with a little haze, little head and tiny bubbles.
S: There is a sweetness, but also a bit of stale beer to it.
T: I get some bready/biscuity flavor followed by a sweetened coffee taste at the end. The coffee flavor in a blonde ale is obviously an unusual setup, but it actually works.
F: Very light body with a dry finish. I know it wasn't going be as if I were drinking a cup of coffee, but I could have used more body.
O: If you isolate each part of the beer (look, smell, taste, feel) it comes across as underwhelming. But, if you take it as a whole it works. A classic example of the sum being greater than the parts. This is a very drinkable beer with some unusual (in a good way) character.

Slightly hazy golden body, fizzy white head that leaves just a ring, plenty of fine carbonation, and sediment on the bottom. Nose is overly sweet, with floral vanilla bean making up most of it and roasted coffee in the background. Flavor is also heavy on the vanilla and sweetness, reminiscent of white chocolate, but gives more attention to the coffee. The light malt is detectable only here and there, but is mostly blanketed by the namesakes. Body is light and, while fizzy, highly drinkable.
Barely recognizable as a beer, this still was respectful to not go completely overboard with additive flavors. The vanilla did need to be toned down, but overall this was a decently restrained sugary guilty pleasure.

Pours a slightly hazy, light orange with modest head that dissipates quickly. The vanilla and malts dominate, somehow giving me a strong suggestion of papaya and macadamia nut on the nose. The coffee was a bit out to lunch, possibly contributing to the nuttiness but otherwise not making much noise until the finish. Interesting, but not really to my liking.

12 fl oz. can, packaged date 02/11/16 printed on the six pack carrier. My first beer from Odd Side Ales; excited to finally see this brewery distributed to my area! 'Blonde ale with coffee' per the can.

Poured into a Duvel tulip snifter.

A - A pale golden beer body with lots of haze. One finger of thing wispy white head that falls to a fluffy ring. Doesn't leave much in the way of lacing

S - A subtle but pleasant and intriguing aroma: notes of crisp golden malts, cold brewed coffee beans, lactose, and vanilla. Perhaps a slight fruit / apple aroma hidden in the background.

T - Smooth, crisp, grainy, creamy. Notes of cold-brewed coffee, vanilla, lactose. Pretty delicious and easy-drinking stuff.

M - Feel is smooth, crisp, & creamy. Light-bodied with good carb. Very easy-drinking.

12oz bottle from LambicPentameter (thanks man!). Bottled 11/30/15. Served in a goblet.

Pours a dull gold with almost three fingers of rocky white froth. A consisitent veneer is left behind after the head fades with a foamy ring that deposits large, near-solid sheets of lace.

Smells of sugar, dry yeast, bread, faint coffee and something my senses interpret as vague fruit skins.

Tastes like watered down coffee, semi sweet caramel, bitter earthy bark and a vague almost rye-like spice. It's not quite a combination I look for in a brew.

Thin, dry body with moderate carbonation. Aftertaste has more of that watered down coffee and a vague earthy bitterness.

I'm not much of a blonde ale drinker and I can't say that Bean Flicker has done anything to sway me.

Pours light golden with some shit floating around in it. Aromas of blonde roasted coffee, vanilla, and caramel. Coffee flavors are somewhat mild and are backed up with a mild vanilla presence over a light grainy malt.

Served from a can in an Ohio State Shaker pint glass.

Nice to see a bit of equal opportunity for masturbation references in the beer world... Anyhoo, this stuff pours a clear brass topped by a finger of relatively short-lived lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises rich coffee, complete with that chocolate sort of smell that tends to tag along with it in those coffee stores in the mall (they still have those stores, right? I don't get out much...). It's pretty simple and straightforward. The taste brings in more of the same, but the richness is decidedly toned down here, forcefully waned by milquetoast grains (I meant that as the pure adjective, not as the specific grains that go into the creation of said bready treat). The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a slick feel. Overall, a nice coffee blonde, but one I wish had a bit more of that coffee character on the tongue. I'm not saying I want as much as my 'strils get, as that would likely be a bit much, but some real coffee oomph would have worked far better than this blend of mild coffee and vague breadiness.

Pours a bright golden and forms a 1-inch creamy, white, head. Wet straw nose? Strong coffee and vanilla notes on the palate. Medium body and modest carbonation. Sweet, creamy lingering with coffee, vanilla, and malt on the palate. The wet-straw notes persist on the nose, but are joined by vanilla and caramel. Very nice on the palate. Modest malt notes, but sweet cream and coffee shows up.

Picked this up while back in the Midwest for my 10 year reunion. Poured a solid vibrant yellow color, 1/3" white head on the top.

Aroma was gorgeous, dropping coffee all over me like that old Live song from the 90s. Taste was coffee too, mild toasted grains. Mouthfeel was great, more waves of coffee. Had a lot of caramel creamer flavor going for it, was pretty neat. Similar to Stone's golden stout that had lots of caramel in coffee, made you think you were drinking the lightest body stout with those adjuncts that are usually in stouts. The hopping here was enough that it warrants a mention too.

Odd Side makes some odd beers, but this is one of their best, thoroughly enjoyed. Great summertime coffee beer.

I thought this was very lovely. It had a foamy white head with good retention, the aroma was predominantly vanilla and fresh baked bread. It had a nice light taste, more vanilla from the coffee beans, and just a slight tinge of actual coffee. I liked that it did not have any bitterness from too much coffee. It's easy to add too much coffee to a light bodied beer and this ended up nicely balanced.

I don't particularly like blond ales. This one was slightly hazy, some sediments in the bottle. The smell was carmel with a slight mustiness in the background. The taste was of slight carmel and malts, better than most blond ales, but it won't be a regular for me.

Attractive with a decent head and some, but not a ton of lacing. Strong yeast aroma with just a hint of coffee. Taste is light but enjoyable with a mild but pleasant coffee flavor on top of a relatively low flavor blonde ale. I feel Odd Side is hit or miss but this might actually sit in the middle of their usual extremes.

12. oz bottle poured into pint glass

L: Pale yellow color. It was very hazy, but I also poured the yeast out. Strong 1" stark white head, with good retention.

S: Mild hops and bready grains are quickly enveloped by warm coffee and vanilla. When lightly swirled, coffee flavors are especially apparent.

T: A light, creamy ale, with a surprising amount of crispness. In the initial flavor, there are enough bready malts to balance the hops, but the palate is soon overwhelmed by rich coffee, espresso, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Absolutely delicious.

F: The carbonation was slightly prickly for my tastes, but it's a minor complaint. There's a medium body, although the boldness of the coffee is more reminiscent of a stout. It's also creamy and crisp at the same time, a nice combination.

O: I absolutely loved this - it combined my two favorite things, coffee and beer. It's a pretty original, bold idea (putting coffee in something light), and it was very well executed. Props to OddSide Ales - I will definitely be buying this again!

Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a pale, crystal clear, golden coloring with a thin halo of white head. Nose of creamy sweet, bitter roasted coffee, and vanilla. Flavors are rich vanilla sweet forward, with a roasted coffee rich backbone. Smooth and light bodied with an effervesced end-feel. Smooth, dry finish, with a lingering aftertaste of vanilla richness and roasted coffee.

Poured from a bottle om 09/06/2015

Look: Gold, pours with a think white head that dissipates quickly without a trace. Strong carbonation throughout, though.

Smell: Smells strongly of coffee with hints of hops and grain

Taste: Starts off a bit like a standard lager with just some mild hops but then punched in the face by coffee on the finish. Can't detect much else

Mouthfeel: Smooth, light and refreshing. A little creamier mouthfeel than the standard ale

Overall: Great option for fans of coffee porters during the hot summer months. The coffee punch is surprising from this golden ale.

Taste is decent for a coffee flavored beer. Slight vanilla taste as well. Most coffee flavored beers are stouts so this is a nice lighter alternative. I'd drink one of these over a Ballast Point Calm before the storm.

Ratebeer tasting. Pale blonde body, mild haze copious bone white head. Aromas of coffee, assorted nuts, malt, chocolate. Such chocolate and coffee flavor is surprising from such a light colored beer. Really tasty.

Very straw like color with white head. No coffee smell at all. Wet grassy and grain. Typical plain ale smell. Taste coffee and vanilla for about 2 seconds. Otherwise plain ale notes. Mouthfeel is clean and refeshing. Very light. Medium carbonation. Good for refreshing factor. Not what I expected. Was hoping for much more flavor wise and was disappointed. Name suggests there should be more.

Appearance - 4/5
Golden orange, fairly clear with a little bit of haze. About 2 fingers of off-white head. Small particles can beer seen floating in the beer. The rising carbonation is very sparse.

Smell - 4/5
Wow. I knew this was a coffee-blonde beer, but I was not expecting the coffee flavor to be this strong. The coffee aroma is quite strong with hints of dark chocolate and espresso. I can't detect much past the coffee.

Taste - 4.25/5
Wow, this really is as advertised. A blonde ale with very strong coffee flavors. Who knew that such a coffee flavor could be achived in a blonde? Besides the coffee, there are secondary light malt flavors--slightly sweet and fairly light. Hints of banana and light fruitiness as well.

Mouthfeel - 4/5
The feel is medium bodied and quite crisp. Yet the coffee flavor still comes through strongly, as if this was a full-bodied coffee stout. There is a medium amount of medium-high intensity carbonation. The beer is quite crisp. Overall quite a good feel.

Overall - 4/5
Overall I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. The coffee flavors were much more present than I was expecting, and it made for a quite enjoyable brew. The only qualms I have is that when I am desiring a light brew, I am usually not looking for a coffee beer. But presumably there are some people out there who like coffee beers, yet are not huge stout or porter fans. In that case this is an excellent beer which would fulfill that niche market.

A very odd take on a blonde ale. Reminds me of cartons coffee. Light bready flavors and then some stale coffee. It is drinkable, but not my style for a coffee beer or a blonde ale. More flavor than a traditional blonde, but I don't know if that is a good thing. Tough to rate this one.

This is one that surprised me a little, as I found it more crisp and refreshing than I thought it would be. In the mood for a coffee forward stout but it's like summer and hot out? This may be just the ticket! Certainly well worth the try to say the least.

I am not a fan of coffee flavor. It tastes like a mocha drink. Most who are into that style of flavor would probably love it though. It's just not my thing.

Poured from bottle to pint glass. Pale, pale yellow with a little head. No lacing. Smells of coffee and cream, slight bitterness, roasted sweet caramel. Taste follows, sweet coffee with a tiny bite on the end. Mouthfeel is thin, could be a perception thing since I was expecting something thicker to go along with the coffee flavor. Little to no aftertaste.

Sounded intriguing. Tasted disgusting. Could not even finish the bottle. I'd drink a warm Bud Light Lime out of a dirty work boot before I have this again.
