Weird little hut of a building on the edge of downtown Flagstaff, I wanted to hit a store while we were in town and this one was well reviewed and looked interesting. This is a small store, but it's well organized and clean and makes the best out of what it has. Selection was seemingly very good for the area with a nice mixture of local offerings and national brands like Founders and Bells that aren't available in my home state of CO. The store breaks a lot of beers into singles so it was a nice way to get a lot of beers to try and the clerks were pretty helpful, if a little limited in their beer geekery. Overall a cool little place that would be a frequent stop if I lived in the area.

My absolute favorite place to stop when in Flag. If you're passing through Flag and you're looking for a brew, don't bother going anywhere else but here. I've always had good luck w/ excellent service, prices are never unreasonable and they let me have more than 1 bottle of special release beers AND I didn't have to ask for them like a child. Stop in, by some shit and enjoy Flag!

I usually have had a nice experience here and spend quite a lot of money on beer to bring back home with me to California a few times a year. My uncle and mom were driving through and wanted to stop here to bring me some beer on their visit. They were immediately insulted by a very snobby beer guy working today. Not everyone is a know it all craft beer expert and it doesn't make you better than anyone else to treat customers like crap if you know a bit about beer. Its a business right? Treat your customers right.

This place is fantastic. It's rather small but packed with nothing but great beer and cigars. I was the only one in the shop and the clerk (believe her name was Laura) was incredibly helpful in pointing out all the local offerings and then just talking beer. She was very knowledgeable but not at all beer-snobbish and I must say it was the best beer buying experience I've ever had. They also have a nice wall with all sorts of rare-ish bottles on hand and when Laura mentioned that they have great relationships with their reps which gets them access to all kinds of great stuff I definitely believed it. They also do mixed-six singles, which is a great way to sample the Arizona breweries which don't get much out-of-state distribution. Bottom line is that this is the kind of place I would love to have in my own neighborhood.

Stopped by this place based on the BA reviews, and I was not disappointed. Made a special stop on my way back to San Diego from the Grand Canyon, and pulled up as the door was opened at 9:00am. Small little shop, about 2/3 dedicated to beer, and 1/3 dedicated to smoking. The selected was nice, with a good amount of the beer being refrigerated and a large shelf section full of six packs. Their mix-a-six deal is great, with a 10% discount for each pack you fill. The guy working there was incredibly helpful, pointing out all of the good local stuff, and recommending a few others based on my favorite styles. He really took the time to show me around and I came away with about 15 new beers. Perhaps I am a bit spoiled from the massive selections I see in San Diego stores, but I sort of expected a bit more in terms of volume. However, I feel like the quality more than made up for the quantity. It was definitely worth the trip.

Wow!!! As others have said what a great place crammed into a small space. Get rid of the cigars and expand!!!!

Atomosphere? Eh...almost convenience store like inside. Seems like you are in someones personal beer/cigar cave actually.

Nothing but top shelf stuff here. I am not from the area or even close but man o man they had all the heavy hitters if you want them-Sierra, Bells (and I was told they only distribute to AZ out west) DFH, Odell's, Lagunitas, Ballast Point. Great variety of locals for sure, including some Santa Fe and others I was looking for.

The young kid working was just great and really knew his stuff. Said he had been there 3 or 4 weeks. Plenty of recommendations for me. Even suggested where to go around the corner when I asked about any Abyss.

Wish I was driving, not flying home. I could have done serious damage in here. Not being from the area I do not know how they stand up overall but I would have to think these guys knock it out of the park!!!

McGaughs Smoke and Bottle is officially my new Mecca. You never knew you could fit so much amazing in such a tiny place! The staff are knowledgeable and always ready to help you pick out the perfect brew for your taste and mood. Laura (one of the proprietors) is especially helpful. I'm relatively new to cigars but she always helps me pick out something I love. She can pick something based on your price range, flavor preference and how long you want to smoke it.

I always leave happy. I would be lying if I told you that I have never skipped to my car with my bag of goodies...

Wow. What a gem! Mcgaugh's is a tiny place for sure, but man do they have a great selection: Bell's, Odell's, Deschutes, Lost Abbey, Oscar Blues, DFH and even some vintage bottles of Avery (sonce they stopped distributing to AZ). The staff is very friendly and super knowledgeable (I met a gal named Laura) and their mix and match 6-packs are a great value. They also have sweet discounts based on the amount of beer you buy. Coming from NYC, I wasn't expecting much out in Arizona, but this little store blew my mind away. I can't recommend this place enough!

Was on my way to Pay-N-Take in Flagstaff when I drove by this store. Made my way back there after Pay-N-Take and was pleasantly surprised when I walked in.

The store itself is not huge but they use the available space well. I headed right for the six-packs as that is what I am into. I drink the beers, save one side of the carrier, laminate it, then hang them in my garage. I'm currently around 980 labels after about 12 years.

Anyways, back to Smoke & Bottle. There was another customer checking out as I walked in but before long the employee asked if I needed help. I didn't catch the employees name (my screw up) but we struck up a conversation about collecting. He was very knowledgeable regarding beer/breweries/styles. He also brought up this website (as he is a member) so if you see this post-thanks for the help.

The store is clean and laid out well. It is also a smoke store (as the name suggests) so I blew right by that area and headed for the beer coolers and shelf. I proceeded to take down room-temp sixers from the shelf (since I was traveling for another day by vehicle) and he rang them up and started placing them in larger boxes for me.

Since my field of view is narrowed down to sixers only, I don't pay much attention to singles/cans/bombers/ etc. I know there was a relatively extensive selection on-hand but I can not provide any details on those.

So after checking my list of what I already own, I walked away with 12 new sixers, mostly from Left Hand, Wasatch and Great Divide, and received a 5% discount for volume purchasing. I needed to hit the road as I had to get up to 4 Corners before sunset but the next time I am in Flagstaff-this will be my first stop.
