22 Ounce Bottle from BevMo
Poured into pint glass
A - Pours pitch black with thinner creamy tan head.
S - Dark toasty/roasty malt smell with coffee, chocolate and maybe even a little peanut butter. I know it's stretch but it's there.
T- Strong coffee and chocolate forward stout. Very strong typical of an imperial but not too boozy. 8.7 ABV. Don't want to chug this. It's for savoring and has a nice long warm finish.
M- Thick and substantive.
O- This is a good imperial stout. I usually favor "regular" stouts over imperials because they are too boozy this may be my favorite imperial stout. Good beer.

Tulip glass filled from 22 oz bomber
A. Pitch black, lots of carbonation
S. Toffee, coffee, rich
T. Roasted coffee, chocolate, not too bitter or sweet
M. Somewhat thin
O. I like this beer, it has a nice roasted coffee forward taste and the moderate alcohol level is well hidden. There is a good sweet/bitter balance. Tasty! I like this beer.

Consumed June 9th, 2014 at The Tipsy Cow, Sherman Oaks, CA.
Beer is a deep dark brown (almost black). A two-finger foamy off-white/light tan head sticks around for a while and provides adequate lacing.
Aroma is chocolate milk and vanilla. Yummy!
Flavor is reminiscent of malted milk. Some vanilla and mild coffee notes as well. Sneaking bitterness creeps in at the end, providing a nice finish to this agreeable beer.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with proper carbonation. Surprised by the ABV; I never would have guessed it so high.
This was a nice surprise, especially considering my previous encounters with Mother Earth beers have been less than a delight.
