Good drinking beer and an easy drinking stout. Add the complexity of dark chocolate & peanut butter and it an all around good drinking beer once the weather cools off a little. The dark color may scare a few people off, it's not a heavy stout at all. Also the brewery itself uses all organic ingredients and it one of the top breweries here in San Diego.

When you see a dark khaki-colored, creamy and frothy head over midnight black body like this, you appreciate the importance of appearance in a beer. This is gorgeous. 5

Deeply sweet and caramel-like. Dark chocolate in front of some sweet floral hop aroma. The vanilla notes are potent. This smells like a tasty dessert. 4.25

The flavor here does not disappoint. Chocolate makes its mark all over this, dark but sweet with notes of vanilla at the front, and dry, roasty baker's chocolate that lingers on the finish. There are so many flavors layered in this, caramel, resinous hops, graham crackers, it's again, a dessert. 4.5

Flavor didn't disappoint. Feel doesn't either. Sweet, creamy and viscous almost throughout before the finish closes with prickly carbonation and a biting, bitter finish. 4.25

Damn this was impressive. Is word out on this brew? It should be.

Poured a rich black. Really nice chocolate and coffee notes in the aroma. But everything went downhill from the first taste. This had a really sharp, almost acidic aftertaste. Overly boozy, perhaps? Maybe it was a bad bottle? Not sure. I was hopeful on this one. Wouldn’t go back.
