Hop Diggity - Mother Earth Brew Co

American Double IPA
8% ABV

Appearance- Amber with some haziness but not much, Head is small and doesn't retain itself long.

Aroma- Citrus hops, underwhelming a little bit. Maybe some pine behind the citrus

Taste- Citrus and melon definitely. Not much bitterness, a very balanced double. Wish some more hops came through. Maybe a little breadiness from the malts.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodies that lingers for a few seconds. Moderately carbonated as well.

Overall- Will drink again but wont target if other options are available. I think it’s a good DIPA for people who are not big HopHeads.

22 oz. bomber poured into tulip glass.

A: Pours a mostly opaque copper with a significant head which largely fades. With drinking, still leaves a very thin head.

S: Piney and dank, but you really need to dig for it. Just doesn't give off that typical effervescent West Coast DIPA aroma.

T: Citrus is the main takeaway, with some extra piney hops and even some malt in the backdrop.

M: Warm, heavy with a mild carbonation. Beer lingers in your mouth for a few, too.

O: An enjoyable DIPA that doesn't overwhelm. At 8 percent ABV, not overly boozy, but as you drink, the alcohol does become slightly more apparent. Would recommend for those who can obtain.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Pours dark orange with a little haziness and a nice white head. Leaving a bunch of lacing as the head fades. The first thing that I smell is caramel malts followed by some pine and citrus. On first sip I thought that it was a bit malty but as drink it's really growing on me. The hops are there and although this beer doesn't quite have the hop presence that I tend to like this beer is really good. It finishes relatively dry leaving a perfect bitterness on your tongue that makes me want more and more. Overall this beer is very balanced and drinkable.
