A - Black body below a 1 finger tan head.
S - Cocoa and coffee dominate and are surprisingly aggressive given the ABV.
T - Right up front I get roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate in a nice balance. Nice bitterness from the dark malts, hops present but indistinguishable. Really flavorful but drys out and ends rather clean despite some sweetness up front.
M/D - Full body and sticky but doesn't taste or seem thick or huge. Glad they stopped where they did with the ABV, any bigger and to me it's be a little hard to approach as a go to stout. Drinks good, will probably be nicer in the dead of Winter.

Deep deep brown with a deep tan head that dissipates over time. lots of chocolate on the nose, some coffee, big roast character, some charcoal and asphalt.
Full bodied but the bright carbonation makes it feel lighter in the mouth. Some roasted barley flavor up front roll into big rich chocolate flavor with some touches of coffee and roasted grains. Finishes with just enough bitterness to balance, some acrid flavors but nothing too off. Slightly tinny on the finish as well. Finishes with some lingering tannins and an overall chocolate flavor. Mild bitterness lingers as well. Overall pretty good.

Served on-tap at Little Town NJ in Hoboken, NJ
A: Pours an opaque but clear jet black in color with light amounts of visible carbonation and some cola brown highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of dark roasted malts with some lighter notes of dark chocolate.
T: Light to moderate flavors of dark roasted malts with some very light notes of dark chocolate. Light to moderate amounts of lingering bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with just shy of moderate amounts of carbonation. Relatively smooth.
O: Easy to drink and relatively smooth but the overall flavors and aromas are a touch light for my personal preference. Would likely pair very well with a lot of different foods since it is rather light.
