8oz glass - called an 'unchained sour stout' at the Beer Revolution sourfest.

This beer appears a very dark brown colour, with prominent orange cola highlights, and one solid finger of puffy, foamy, and frothy beige head, which leaves a thin wall of pockmarked lace around the glass as it evenly recedes.

It smells of semi-sweet grainy caramel malt, wet ashes, black licorice, demarara sugar, softly tart dark fruit, and somewhat piney and overripe citrusy hops. The taste is more grainy caramel malt, bittersweet chocolate, sour black fruit, diluted molasses, a bit of root beer syrup, and leafy, piney, and increasingly underwhelming citrusy hops.

The bubbles are fairly benign in their placid tongue probing, the body a decent middleweight, and more or less smooth. It finishes off-dry, the just big enough cocoa-tinged caramel malt contending with a pushy lingering sour dark fruitiness.

Not a bad hoppy and sour foreign export style stout, the twin metrics playing well together, surprisingly. I'm at a bit of a loss where the 'rastafarian' angle comes in, but whatever, it's a good brew overall, as long as you're cool with the sometimes unnecessary complexity.

Keg only release brewed to the style just alot more hops and pours a very dark brown hue with a velvety three finger head that doesn't want to leave and clingy lacing everywhere, the smell is what u expect from a FES with heaps of roasty malts, molasses, liquorice, booze and a truckload of piney hops, the mouthfeel is just over light bodied with moderate carbonation and could be a little thicker and the taste starts off all about the roasty malts and they dominate the start but broken up by a slight cameo of dark bitter stringent chocolate and then the piney hops do their stuff and man are they piney and overall it's nothing to rave on about but I think with this style they ain't sposed to be memorable just really drinkable and it definitely achieves that cheers.
