A 500ml bottle with a BB date of Jan 2011 - so it's a little out of date at this point. The label is nice - a silver image of a hop vine with cones.

Poured into a Guinness pint glass. A coppery-amber colour with slight haziness and medium carbonation. Indications of live yeast when pouring. A small off-white head that disappears quite quickly. The aroma is predominantly sweet malt, with ester notes and hints of yeast and biscuits. Also an artificially sweet overtone - almost like bubblegum.

The taste is faintly malty with light bitterness. Notes of caramel and yeast. Body is a bit thin, with a tingly astringent mouthfeel. Weak aftertaste of bitter malt.

It's OK, but not great. The character is rather weak and sweet. The brewers should try adding more hops to give it some bite. Pass....

First beer in a random British Beer tasting evening on 8th Jan 2011.

500ml brown bottle, poured inro an 'Old Speckled Hen' badged vase shaped pint glass.

Good amber body, slight haze. White head, thin but firm and with staying power.

Weak aroma, got some hop esters as the beer warmed.

The taste was of floral hops and mild barley flavours. The flavours blended well and tasted great together, even if my discription sounds a bit off!

Fairly light bodied, but flavoursome in a basic sort of way. I tend to be a sweet rather than dry or sour sort of drinker and this beer leans towards my style of tastes.

I found it very drinkable and will seek out more, as well as looking for other beers from this brewery.
