can to a pint glass
dark gold in color with a off white foam
Had a hoppy, piney smell with some grapefruit to it
taste had a hop flavor that you get with an IPA, with a hop aftertaste that fades as a sweet finish arrives.. Great beer from Alabama cannot wait totry another at the beer fest in 11 days.

The Monkeynaut....to me...is more of an English IPA and an American PA. It is very bitter. The beer pours a nice clear copper with thin white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent is mostly bitter hops...maybe hints of pine and citrus....but not much. The taste is bitter with a bready type malt for balance. The mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall this isnt a bad beer....but its not one that I would session. The ABV and bitterness keeps it from being a all night beer.

A: Copper filtered, a few particles suspended within, almost no carbonation, 3 finger of slight beige head.

S: Pine, pine sol cleaner, heated spice, slight tropical fruit in the background, floral, candy, baby powder, candy malt.

T: Tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus, quite sweet, candy malt, medium dull bitterness that comes in near the end and lingers.

M: Medium heavy syrupy body, low carbonation.

O: Love the can, great taste. Got this in Birmingham at Wholefoods when passing through. Pairs well with spicy food. Very drinkable and almost verges on a double IPA.

Poured from 12 oz can into tulip glass.

A: Golden copper with generous 3 finger frothy head that left some sticky lacing.

S: Caramel and malts mixed with a hint of citrus. Grapefruit, lemon, maybe a bit of orange.

T: Combination of rich malts with some slight bitterness. Grapefruit and lemon.

M: Medium body with fairly heavy carbonation.

O: Fairly balanced IPA. Just enough bitter hops, but not overpowering. A nice complement to a Saturday night football game.

Thanks to richj1970 for this one!

A - Pours a dark copper color with a soapy looking head and sticky lacing, carbonation is active and constant.

S - The aroma is mostly caramel toasted malt with a hint of citrus and herbs.

T - Herbal caramel toasted malt with a bitter lemon and grapefruit finish. Malt up front with a little bit of hop presence and just the opposite on the back side. Moderate lingering bitter finish.

M - Full medium body.

O - Balanced.

Poured from can into pint glass.

A: Nice golden copper color. Nice head retention

S: Slight floral and tropical smell

T: Big malt profile up front with a very aggressive bitter finish.

O: This one lived up to the hype I heard. Perfect amount of malt/hop balance IMHO. One of the better IPA's I have had in a while.
