Poured into a pint glass

A: Mahogany colored with an off-white one-finger head that didn't linger. Decent lacing.

S: Belgian yeast pops up, along with dark fruits (raisins, dates, plums).

T: Follows nose with a nice chocolate finish as it warms. Malty and sweet. Goes down easy.

M: Medium with light to medium carbonation.

O: A very tasty dubbel. Will be drinking more of this one. The Belgian yeast really makes it pop. Try a pint.

Despite a really solid, cool smell and a wonderful look and pour, Straight to Ale's Dubbel is a bit fruitier than I was expecting. It's certainly not bad, but not necessarily my preferred taste. I suspect their IPAs are so prolific and popular for a reason. Straight to Ale might just be a brewery more geared toward American IPAs like Monkeynaut or Snakehandler, which are both highly recommended.

Draft from bar at concert venue.

A: Poured ruby red with 2 finger head that the bartender promptly poured off the side to fill the glass up all the way. Hard to jug lacing and head retention.

S: Belgian yeast, caramel, and plums.

T: Nice spiciness with some clove and all spice flavors. Lots of fruits - banana, plum, raisin. Sweet finish.

M: Medium body with fair carbonation. Tends a bit on the sweeter side but in a pleasant way.

O: A nice dubbel. Enjoyable to drink. Not the best in the group, but a solid choice especially for a local brew.

Serving type: on-tap

A: Poured a burgundy color with purple hightlightsn hues displaying a small dirty white cap, fair amount of bubbles and light lacing

S: The nose is heavy handed on Belgian candy sugar, light dash of spice and hints of dark fruits

T: Upfront I garner a big Belgian candy sugar and syrupy sweetness that seems to be the ringleader in the flavor. There were some light hints of spice, some light dark fruits and a touch, slight touch of chocolate. FInish is sweet, slicl and a little booze sting hits you

M: Medium bodied, syrupy, well carbonated

O: Overall, a little to sweet, not as creamy as I like and heavyhanded on the candy

Serving type: on-tap
