I have been drinking this beer for 3 years now. And I loved it then just as much as i do now. I live in north central alabama so this beer is semi-easy to find.

appearance: is brownish with a slight hint of red

smell: not sure i have a lousy nose

taste: im not gonna break it down like how many do. all i can say is its good and goes good with steak & cheesecake both

mouthfeel: easy to drink i enjoy the medium carbonation

overall: i like it

Poured into a pint glass

A: Mahogany colored with an off-white one-finger head that didn't linger. Decent lacing.

S: Belgian yeast pops up, along with dark fruits (raisins, dates, plums).

T: Follows nose with a nice chocolate finish as it warms. Malty and sweet. Goes down easy.

M: Medium with light to medium carbonation.

O: A very tasty dubbel. Will be drinking more of this one. The Belgian yeast really makes it pop. Try a pint.

Draft from bar at concert venue.

A: Poured ruby red with 2 finger head that the bartender promptly poured off the side to fill the glass up all the way. Hard to jug lacing and head retention.

S: Belgian yeast, caramel, and plums.

T: Nice spiciness with some clove and all spice flavors. Lots of fruits - banana, plum, raisin. Sweet finish.

M: Medium body with fair carbonation. Tends a bit on the sweeter side but in a pleasant way.

O: A nice dubbel. Enjoyable to drink. Not the best in the group, but a solid choice especially for a local brew.

A solid, dark, chocolate-banana dubbel that's very drinkable but, nevertheless, not expressly exciting. A sharp, bitter thickness appends the expected deep-brown sweetness, but beyond some banana esters there isn't a lot going o with the flavors of this beer. And yet: it's damn solid. Indeed, for a dubbel, it's downright fairly sessionable—particularly since its mouthfeel isn't too sticky (for its genre). All in all: not incredible, but credibly constructed to a decent number of steps above tolerable.

I am having a hard time believing I am the first to review this one, but its the only dubbel I see by this brewery and the menu cleary said Straight to Ale Belgian Dubble. So...it was a great interpretation from a small craft brewery on a dubbel. A nice dark copper with a thick white head that faded fast but left nice lace. The smell had faint belgian yeast on top of a caramel and honey toned backbone with some spicy elements. A bit of a watered down version on the taste for the style, but very drinkable. Unmistakable on the belgian yeast profiles with spicy and fruity characters coming through a caramel backbone with hints of cocoa and cinamon. Very good drink. Easy to down.
