Hellfire Belgian Style Quadrupel
It's a big, complex Belgian Style beer at 10% ABV. Rich malty sweetness up front along with dark, fruity esters and spicy notes. Low bitterness and medium body in this one, which finishes with a smooth alcohol warmth.

Really good brew. Got the 4 pack of cans in Birmingham.
Desc: They’re not reinventing the wheel of Belgians here-but it stands out to me in some really good ways.
This beer is dark(to the point where others may think you’re enjoying a stout). It’s strong and boozy. You might expect this beer to be thicker, but really they hit it on the head I think. It’s not thin in a watery way, just enough to where you won’t feel like you’ve had a second meal(*cough* *cough* breakfast stouts- I’m looking at you)- but thick enough to satisfy and feel substantial.
Smell is pleasant but not really strong enough to warrant a whole lot of description. Fruity aromas-maybe figs or raisins.
The taste is better than most Belgians I’ve tried. It’s dominated by dark fruit and spice. Good bit of malt for a Belgian- but I like it. The boozy high abv nature of the brew and spice packs some heat in the mouth and more so in the throat- almost like that of a smooth bourbon going down the hatch. The heat lingers a long time- my guess as to why it’s called “hellfire”
Overall this is one of my favorites. The flavor is on point- and the overall experience just feels unique(lighter feel- heated spice) compared to a normal Belgian trip or quad. Can’t quite put it into words- other than it feels different- but not too different. This is something Straight to Ale does really well- they create beers that are unique, yet accessible. They are worthy of a purchase from a veteran or novice alike.
I know it won’t be for everyone, but Belgians can get expensive and this one is reasonable- so if you’re in the mood to try something new- pick this up!

No bottling date that I could see.
A: Pours a dark, dark brown with a very tall, very frothy and airy medium brown head. head eventually settles, leaving just little smudges of lacing. Great head retention, however.
S: Strong dark fruit aroma, lots of figs. Some raisin in there too. Dark bread and sweet candi sugar. It actually kinda reminds me of...prepared banana bread mix. Made with overripe bananas. How's that for a mental...aroma?
T: Hmph. Strong toasted bread mixed with brown sugar, figs, raisins and ripe bananas. That's pretty much sums it up. Mild herbal hoppiness (and light bitterness) in the finish. Long lingering bready aftertaste. No real sign of alcohol, hard to believe this is 10%.
M: Fairly heavy, smooth.
O: Not a bad quad. Odd overripe banana flavor that just doesn't "fit" but otherwise a nice tasty quad. Alcohol remarkably well hidden as this is not harsh at all. Quite smooth and easy drinking in fact.
