Our Tripel was inspired by the hard working Artisan brewers in monasteries across Belgium. It is said that the Belgian Tripel is regarded by the Belgian ale drinker as a style itself. Our Tripel is a pale colored ale made with Pilsen malt and a traditional addition of Belgian candy sugar, then hopped with German Noble and Saaz hops. This ale has a light malt nose and a ubtle hop aroma.

Poured into a chalice a very nice pale yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a nice thick creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing and a huge oil slick in the middle of the glass. The nose is malty, fruity, yeasty, with a slight bananna, coriander, licorice notes. The taste is sweet, malty, nice fruit and yeast notes. Medium body. Overall I'm very impressed with this brew from MB, would recommend and buy again. Not as HOT as other Tripel's I've had in the past. Way to go MB!

Nice clear yellow. Effervescent. Sweet. Light and pleasing to the palate. A very good tripel. This is an excellent addition to their lineup though limited release, and am fortunate to have snagged this as a gift.

Due to Utah state law, this can only be served in a bottle.

Two fingers of creamy white head that recedes to a half-finger, clear, gold body. Complex, elegant lacing.

Belgian yeast in the nose, some citrus, a bit of light fruit (pear? Or maybe 'sour apple candy' flavor) and a trace of booze.

Sweet, quite so. Once you get past the candy sweetness, there's a bit of alcohol with some apple and pear, maybe a hint of peach, grape. Nice, but very sweet.

Mouthfeel is subtly, smoothly carbonated, thanks to bottle conditioning. Well suited to the style.

Overall a very nice tripel for Utah, but very sweet.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. Good pop off the top.

Real gorgeous lemon and opaque body. Really nice, with slow clear rising carbonation coming from the sides. Head is creamy white, with about a finger on the pour. Settles to a thin pick, with a collar that gets populated with the carbonation. REally nice looking.

Absolutely gorgeous bouquet. Full of fruit sweetness of apple and honey. Pears and melon come in a bit with some spicy kick. Light sucrose sensing sweetness really balanced and a sense of large depth coming. Very impressive.

Playfully carbonated and not distracting on first sip. Palate fills with fruit and controlled sweetness and a clove like sense of spice in the middle. Wine like finish with some malt depth. Chewy quality abounds with juicy character, and big malt depth on top which seems like a contradiction. Some faint hop grass like bitterness on the finish but so subtle with a mild warming character and masked boozy taste.

Overall this tripel is a real winner, it's lovely.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger bright white head with good retention and thick pillowy lacing. Aroma of Belgian yeast, coriander, clove, subdued stone fruit, apple juice, a hint of tartness. Flavor is apple and pear juice, bready malt, honey, Belgian yeast, coriander and clove, starts semi-sweet but dries out into a peppery, spicy fruit finish with light European style hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess. This is quite a well done domestic tripel, hitting all the style points with a nice flavor profile and transition. I'm impressed. If I didn't have to drive 800 miles to get another bottle, I'd be all over this one.

Chill hazed amber colored ale with a very tall white colored head.

Smells sweet with a strong scent of honeysuckle. Soapy hop aroma. Musty yeast scent and a bruised banana scent.

Starts out sweet and mildly bitter with a taste of honey to it. This has the flavor of pollen to it and it strongly reminds me of the taste of mead. Bruised fruit and banana flavors.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall tasty beer but not the best of its type.

Attractive appearance in the Brigand chalice with clouds of foam and lots of lacing. Color is a hazy light amber. Pleasantly creamy on the tongue. Aroma of peach and pineapple with a snappy acidic note.

The sweet malt is sharpened up by the tart fruity edge. The funky yeasty taste is restrained and intriguing. Flavors of fermenting pineapple, canned peach, apricot. Slight yeasty bitterness at the finish.

Really smooth, drinkable, fruity and fragrant. A tremendous Tripel from an unlikely location. From the Utah State Liquor Store in Salt Lake City.

Big thanks to Mark for sharing this large swingtop bottle with me. Poured into a tulip, the brew appears a hazed pale golden color with a finger of white froth. Some webby patterns of soapy lace cling to the glass as the cap fades.

The aromatics are fresh and grainy hinting towards the listed pilsner malt inclusion with fruity alcohol and yeasty suggestions of apple and pear skin. Overall a surprisingly aromatic brew that is driven primarily by the malt inclusion.

The flavor boasts that same grainy freshness but with a peppery yeast spice and an inclusion of alcohol. The alcohol while on the lighter side for a tripel gets progressively more focused as the brew warms up. Subtle fruity hints like the previously mentioned apple and pear skins are noted in the aftertaste.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It is pleasant and easy drinking for nearly 9%. Not my favorite tripel but certainly one I would drink again if the opportunity presented itself. My first offering from this brewery and color me interested in trying more.

Nice hazy orangish amberish yellowish body. Looks thick and sticky. Good sized white head with fine little bubbles that recede to a thin lacy cap leaving their mark along the glass as well.

Yeasty fruity flavours are the forefront, as one would imagine. Apple juice, but not the sweet kind, but with more floral notes dancing underneath, and a straw like supportive feature. This really grows as it warms, bringing forth more and more varied fruits: pear and maybe some banana even a bit of peach.

Starts off decidedly more on the sweet side with much more banana and peach before withdrawing faintly into the pears from the nose and crashing back in a boozy wave of sweet bruised banana and... a touch of spicy hops. I almost get a vanilla like layer at some point as well, but I don't know how much of this is real life..

Fine points of carbonation help bring out the spice from the hops and to give the illusion of recession before the ETOH wave breaks. Medium body, and smoothe, once past the prickly point.
Interesting and tasty, but a bit boozy. Sweet and boozy. Tripels are admittedly not my first choice of style, and this one is well done and unique, aside from the quabbles I mention above. Glad to have grabbed it though!

This is one of my favorite tripels. It's exactly the way I like 'em--good pilsner malt backbone and generous amounts of Saaz. It does have some sweetness, but that doesn't bother me because it is well balanced by the peppery bite of the Saaz. I loves me some Saaz.

This beer is only available in a gigantic to-go bottle for about 17 bucks due to the 4% law imposed by the beehive. You can't even get a taster at the brewery. So I went on faith and bought one to bring home. It was definitely worth it. If only they put the border about 30 miles west...
