A: Located in a strip mall off of County Line Rd between Walked in and the service greeted 565 and Hwy 72. When we walked we were greeted with a hello but that was about it. We sat and chatted with a few locals about local beer happenings before we darted.

Q: The quality is pretty good. However, in the mix a sixer room you better check the freshness dates or you might get some pretty old, funky stuff.

S: Very nice and prompt. I had a few questions and he had answers.

S: I had two beers on premises and sixer to go. I could have bought more considering I saw cans of Monkeynaught and some Bell's Two Hearted

My wife and I stopped in at this place while out shopping in Madison, AL. It is a small inconspicuous cafe type bar semi hidden in strip mall. The establishment is equally divided between a bistro style eating area and a retail beer and wine store. There are seven tables and a small L-shaped bar in the bistro area. The retail side has quite a large selection of wines and bottled craft beers which are sure to please most people. They maintain 11 beers on tap with many local brews. I had the Yellowhammer Alt Bier from Huntsville, AL and it was delicious. This definitely is not your usual burger and beer place. Check out the Stem & Stein if you like a small bistro type atmosphere with good food and good beer.

I was in Madison for a friends' wedding, and this was recommended to me.. I had no idea what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised. Half shop, half "pub". I think it's neat that you could buy a bottle of wine from the sho, and walk over to the bar side and drink it. The beer selection is not easily rivaled, and I happily enjoyed a Monk's Cafe, or three. The bartendress was very nice, and the service was great. They had an acoustic duo pleaying that provided a good atmosphere for my friends and I. I highly recommend this hidden from Huntsville treasure.

I stopped by the Stem and Stein on my way into Huntsville - it's not very far off of I-565. I had seen their web site and figured I might get a good beer to take into town.

They are part beer/wine store and part bar. I didn't get any beer at the bar but I saw they had some nice unique beer on tap. They had some local/regional draft beer, including Olde Town Hefeweizen, which I've tried in bottles and was impressed.

I picked up a 4-pack of Ommegang Abbey Ale, which I'd never had before -- great stuff! The selection of other craft beers seemed very good and they included tags with descriptions and ratings of some of the beers.

I didn't ask for any help from the staff, but did have a customer come over and talk about some stouts they had and make a recommendation.

Overall I thought this was a worthwhile stop and would like to visit again.

Visited today to build some 6-packs so I found out they have a small room dedicated to their singles. This room had a very good selection to choose from with plenty of local/regional beers plus a good amount of imports. Also my wife asked to taste a couple of wines to help her choose one and was pleased with the service by the staff.
