From 09/15/13 notes. On tap at The Salty Pig in Boston, MA. After a weekend of BA fests a nice change of pace. Served in a tulip.
a - Pours a somewhat clear bright yellow color with no carbonation evident and one inch maybe of white head. Weird it looks like it has no carbonation, as it was carbonated. Must be the glass.
s - Smells of wheat, grains, bready malts, yeast, light spice, and light citrus hops. Nice little bit of citrus on the end and normal pilsener malts throughout the nose.
t - Tastes of wheat, grains, bready malts, dough, yeast, earthy malts, citrus hops, and floral notes. Little more going on here than the nose but still quite light in the citrus and floral notes. Nice though.
m - Light to medium body and low carbonation, though it is there. Very easy to drink.
o - Overall a pretty nice pilsner; exactly what I wanted with lunch outside on a nice day. Easy to drink and some nice floral and citrus notes in the taste, would have it again.

Very solid Czech Pils. Equally sweet and dry; bready but still with a mildy bitter sharpness. Clean execution. Great crusher.

Now simply known as Notch Pils, this got me to pull the trigger. So glad I did. What an incredible amount of delicious Pils flavors they managed to pack in at a relatively low ABV. Surprised this doesn't rate higher as is neither light-tasting nor watery. Just supremely drinkable.

Brewers Notes: Czech style pale lager known as Světlé Výčepní. The 10 plato strength (4% ABV) is the most popular in the Czech Republic, as opposed to the 12 plato strength (5% ABV) that is more familiar in the US. Brewed with European malts, Czech Saaz hops and soft water.
#14 rated Czech pale lager on Beer advocate
Chilled can poured into a stemmed bearded iris glass , one finger white foam froth, great retention, no lacings, clear golden liwuid, numerous active carbonation streams , settles to a pencil thick layer
Aroma is malty, bready, slight sweetness
Taste is malty, bready, slight hops, The bready taste lingers
Smooth, clean,
ran 8 miles as an ar1 and a referee in over the hill Mens finals , good beer for after a hot, humid day on the turf

This is a really beautiful beer to look at in a tulip glass: dark gold with a head that hangs around. Very crisp and refreshing. Of late, my go-to American Pilsner, and I do love a good Pilsner.

A true beer's beer. A wonderful diversion from the normal four pack of NEIPA I usually find in my hand walking out of the liquor store. Good crisp pils without any of the sweat syrup feel you can sometimes get with lower quality versions. We depleted the pack in a quicker than expected manner, but sometimes shuffleboard and grunge music just makes you want to crush beers.

Pours a lightly hazy golden. Some freshly zested lime, maybe some honey, and freshly baked bread, though more than anything it smells like beer. Spicy hops, though if you're used to drinking Tenner, this will feel a little light bodied. That's just decoction, baby. A good readily available Pils, but it is certainly a step or two behind its brethern.

Can. Bright gold clear with ring and island. GRassy herbal aroma with some authentic Czech-style toasted malt toffee/caramel hints. Medium-heavy sweetness with some fruity caramel hints. Very mild herbal finish. LIght body lively carbo. Authentic-tasting but I prefer German-style pilsners.
