Most of the reviewers have nailed the important details of this place but I'll summarize:

- Very difficult to find. Yes you are on the right road but you won't see it from the road. It is in a "warehouse" industrial park so just head all the way down the parking lot, its at the end.

- Rick is very helpful and talkative, but not usually there on the weekend. If Rick isn't there, the service drops off dramatically. Rick is the beer guy so any questions pertaining to incoming beers need to be directed to Rick.

- A consistent selection of west coast brews (meaning that they will never run out of the beers you expect them to have). New beers are usually put to the front of the beer selection so one doesn't need to hunt and peck to find whats new.

- Absolutely great selection of Belgians.

- Ability to break up sixpack and purchase singles.

- Massive amounts of domestics, soda, wine, etc. This is a warehouse, so its built for speed and purchasing in bulk.

- Last but not least...they do not give you itemized receipts. What does that mean? It doesn't show you what items were purchased on the receipt. See, my company does not allow the usage of company money to be spent of booze. But you can purchase food, soda, etc. BW will ALWAYS get our business because of this reason.

This is a solid beer store. I usually visit BW once a week to see whats new.

Beverage Warehouse is located in an industrial park, not in your usual retail environment. Thus, the warehouse in the name. At first, I wasn't sure I was in the right place. After you make the turn from Culver Blvd, drive straight to the back of the street and there's an entrance to the parking lot on your right. It's a no frills place; that's one, large, carries a very solid inventory, and with fair prices.

Craft beers was probably only 20% of this establishment. Lots of wines and hard liquor. They carried a wide variety of craft beers in six-packs and bottles (domestic craft beers, Belgians, English, and German).

Very nice place to pick up craft beers in bulk for parties and other occasions.

The place is clean, spacious, and the stock is displayed like someone actually cared. All the shelves are out in the open, but "warm" is not exactly the right word. Though there is no refrigeration, it felt like typical wear-your-hoodie southern California coastal temperature.

I think it's a pretty amazingly broad spectrum of beers. Not only that, prices were less than average. For instance, they had all of the Goose Island "girls" but for several dollars less than I've seen elsewhere. I wouldn't say there were any rarities, but they had beers I've never seen from several SoCal breweries. I can't begin to list the huge variety of breweries represented. Also dozens of Belgians and Germans.

If you want six-packs, they have vastly more of those than the boutique beer shops. Plus, where can you get Rainier Ale these days, and for six bucks for six 16 oz cans?

This would be the place for someone flying in to LAX and renting a car. You could harvest a vast array of California brews and fill up your trunk for a two week trip with one stop.

I love this place! Great selection of beers from the US and international. You can always trust that they'll have the new releases and a huge selection of bombers and sixers. They dont really have 12ers but thats not a problem. This place is sort of hidden in an off the beaten path strip mall. When you find it you'll be pleasantly surprised. My one beef would be that I wish they stayed open a little later on weekdays b/c I cant get there before 6pm from work.

Nice selection of wine and spirits too!

Located at the back of a industrial strip shopping center. Not sure what I was getting into, but glad I found it and glad I stopped in.

Cold beer is limited to one small cooler opposite the registers in the front. Warm beer area is large and all the way in the back and quite extensive. I was able to find plenty that I was looking for to fill my checked bags for the trip back east. Lots of Alaskan, AleSmith, Stone (plenty of 15th), and Drake's to make me happy.

Service, though a bit standoffish at first, was actually very pleasant when I checked out.

Hard to find, not easy to get to, but worth a stop.

Visited this place on many occasions, figured I owed 'em a review.

Pretty decent selection of craft/import beers, the usual Samuel Smith/Samuel Adams/Lagunitas/Stone offerings that you can find in most places. The place looks like a large industrial warehouse, but everything is well organized. Prices are fair, on par with a lot of other stores in LA that sell craft beer. Only thing is they only carry stuff that you can find anywhere else, if you are looking for rare, one off beers, this isn't the place for you. You better know what you are looking for though, i'v been to this place maybe a dozen times and not once has anyone ever asked me if I needed help, which was all well and good, since I usually have an idea of what I need before I go there. Overall, decent place to get your craft beer fix.

i've been going to this place for awhile now since it is just 5 mins away from my parents house. hidden away from the main street next to a residential area.

they have a wide selection of beer, wine, and alcohol. they carry stuff that you wouldn't find at regular liquor or grocery stores. all of their products are organized and displayed in an easy to find order.

the beer section is extensive. they carry the usual popular market beers, but also carry craft brews and have a large european selection. i usually get my alesmith, russian river, rogue, rochefort, or great divide beers here. the only downer to this place is that they usually don't get the hard to find craft brews. i also love getting my beer glasses here. you can get steins, duvel tulips, yards, and pilsners.

the staff is knowledgeable. but don't except them to go up to you. you have to hunt them down for help. but once you get them they are helpful.

overall, this is a place where you can fulfill most of your craft beer needs.

took a bus here from the airport on a sunday, had to walk the last mile and a half, sheer torture.
finally got there and two guys said hello, told them i came from orlando for their beer, they took pitty on me and answered my quest for pliny and damnation
it was a tough being in there, i had little time, normally in a place like this i would have spent close to $50-75 but i was on strict budget and time. do you understand what i;m saying, i was so pressed for time i couldn;t look at anything.
the guy got me the beers, double bagged it for me and i was ready to walk again, this time for 6 miles. good god. only did it for the pliny and damnation, never again.
place is on my list for next time if i have a car.

This used to be my go to beer store. I find that it is very hit and miss, some weeks I go in and they have a ton of items that I want, other weeks I got in and they seem to have nothing of interest. They do have a large selection. The staff are generally helpful. They don't tend to get many rare items, and not a lot of the Lost Abbey items. Overall very reliable and with a pretty good selection just nothing that will blow you away or get you all giddy.

They do have a great alcohol selection though so there is definitely some other interesting things that can be found/had while you are there.

It's just as the name implies, it's a warehouse with a lot of beverages. The wall of beer has the lineups from most companies you'd think to see in So. Cal. Rogue, Lagunitas, Stone, etc. A great selection of Belgian, English and German beers.

The row of boxes opposite the beer wall has some finds if you dig through them, I spotted several beers that i had never seen anywhere else. I also found myself a St. Bernardus gift pack that was really nice.

The staff was just there to check people out, I didn't get the impression that they were there to answer many questions. However, I don't mind that as i usually don't find the need to ask clerks questions about beer.

A definite stop in the unfortunate event that I find myself on the 405 in that area again.

Big place with lots of beer that's nicely displayed. But keeping all of it out in the warm CA air seems a recipe for bad beer; especially given the weather they had the week I was there. I did pick up a few IPAs in the past that seemed faded due to those conditions. But I still stop by when I fly in and out of LAX.

This place is a real sleeper. Extensive mailings with adds for wine, champagne, and the like but never beer! Huge spirit and wine selections, as well a a large soft drink and water section.

However, the beer selection is also one of the best in the city, as long as you don't expect too much help or too much in the way of service. Huge selection-Belgians, Germans, English and, of course, domestic craft. Good prices with a constant change in stock.

I recommend a periodic visit to this place. I've met some real beer aficionados, home brewers and just some very interesting people roaming the beer aisles. Worth a visit!

Stopped by yesterday while on a short visit to LA.

The best part about the place is the selection. I found it to be quite extensive, but this is also the only place that I've ever shopped for beer in CA before at the time of this writing. Still, in comparison to what I can find back home in Texas, the selection was certainly well above average. It looks like they may have expanded the beer selection a little since some of the previous reviews as it now covers basically an aisle and a half at the back corner of the store. Lots of brews I hadn't seen before. Managed to score a couple bottles of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout of which it looked like they only had one case. Picked up a few Russian Rivers as well.

The quality is maybe a bit of a problem. I don't know how warm it can get here in CA and I've been actually a little surprise at how cool it's been since I got here, but if it ever did manage to get much over 85 or 90 degrees outside I would be concerned about the storage of the brews here. Everything is wide open. I'm not sure if the place was air conditioned or not, but my experience of working in warehouses (and this is literally a warehouse) is that they are not. Still, I've already tried some of what picked up and haven't had any problems. I guess I'd just always prefer to see everything in a cooler, you know?

Customer service was non-existent, but I wasn't really looking for any help anyway. I couldn't tell the difference between the people who were just passionate customers and the actual employees for the most part.

I think the value was high. I didn't spend too much money and got some pretty good stuff. It's comparable to anywhere else I've been in the country anyway.

All in all, a pretty solid beer destination. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

One of the guys hooked me up with wine shippers which allow you to pack 3 bombers in a styro shell, which was GOLDEN for checked baggage on a plane.

I met Dan Ackroyd coming out of the men's room,he was there to sign some of his signature wine.

Picked up Pliny the Elder,Ten Fidy,Russian River,Old Viscosity,Dogfish Head and Hair of the Dog,to name a few notables.Like a previous reviewer said, its good to utilize a GPS to find this place. Its well worth the trip though...

Once I found the place (based upon recommendations on BA), I go back regularly. Overall a great liquor store. Buy all my liquor here, unless CVS/RiteAid have a save. On to beer...

The selection is good. Doesn't change a lot, so you can count on certain beers being there. They always have seasonal selections at good prices. I would love more choices, but don't complain about what they have. Some beers are available as singles, which is nice for a try.

I've never needed or asked for help with the beer itself. The staff is friendly and helpful at the checkout.

Definitely my default store for a real beer run.

Found this place thanks to Beerfuly and stopped by during a weekend in LA. It's in a somewhat odd location. Thank goodness for GPS! It's indeed a warehouse - very unassuming. Not a lot of parking spots, but then again, there were only two other customers there and this was a Saturday afternoon.

The selection was really good. I checked the website before going, but it's not kept current. Call them and ask if you're interested in something specific.

They had lots of west coast stuff I can't get back at home (Chicago). Prices were pretty reasonable, and they let me break a few six packs so I could get what I wanted. Here's a sample of what I was able to get: Adam, Doggie Claws, Ruth; PtE up the wazoo, Blind Pig; Le Freak, GF DIPA, GF west coast IPA; Samichlaus; a few from Black Butte; Stone IPA; Alesmith IPA; and some Oscar Blues.

Service was decent, but not great. Hell, I knew what I wanted walking in the door, though.

Next time I'm in LA, I'm going back - recommended.

Big place tucked in a somewhat odd warehouse/shopping center thing. Real easy to get to from the 405.

Walk in a the place is full of beverages in a warehouse so the name is appropriate. Beers are back and to the right. Wall full of sixers, bombers, 750's and singles. Probably 30' long and 4 or 5 shelves high. Big long rack in the floor as well along with a few other random stacks. Strong representation of CA breweries including Stone, Green Flash, Russian River, The Brury, AleSmith, etc. A little thin on the imports but still a decent selection. Prices all seemed very reasonable and the help was friendly, but not particularly helpful. Definitely worth the stop if you ever find yourself in the area.

Finally trekked over to the Beverage Warehouse. I've been looking for a go-to beer place since moving to Los Angeles. I must say, I miss my beloved Downtown Wine and Spirits in Somerville, MA. (To be fair, I also used to work there, but it really does have an awesome selection.)

Anyways, the warehouse certainly lives up to its' name looks wise. That being said, everything is pretty spread out. They don't really cram a whole lot of stuff in all that space.

Quality - The stuff they had seemed to be in pretty decent shape, and finding things was a breeze.

Service - The guys working there seemed a little rude, and didn't seem to care much about the product. That being said, it's pretty much par for the course.

Selection - Sort of a tease. It really is a pretty good selection, but it could have been so much more. There is plenty of space there, and I would have loved some more options. They have a couple of real treats, but I got pretty much everything I really wanted with one quick stop. They seem to have maybe one or two beers per brewery, which is fine if that's what you're looking for, but kind of a bummer if you already like a brewery and are excited to find a new offering from them.

The prices are totally reasonable, but nothing special.

Overall, this is a decent place, and somewhere to keep in mind. However, it's not exactly a home run. With so much potential I was expecting a bit more. I guess I'm still looking out this way just the right spot.

This is in fact a warehouse as far as decor goes. There are industrial shelving units with lots of spirits, beer, soda and wine.

Macros are well represented with pallets of them lined up on the floor.

While there are plenty of craft beers, there are few I haven't seen anywhere else. For instance, I was excited to see some Sprecher limited edition beers and bought them. Soon, I saw the same beers in at least two other good beer stores.

If you live on the west side of LA, I can see this being your #1 or #2 bottled beer go-to (although I prefer the Winehouse, personally). But I wasn't as thrilled with the selection as I thought I would be when I finally made the special trip there.

Got a chance to check out this place on the way back to Long Beach from my girlfriend's family's house near Tarzana.

This is located off the 90 Freeway (take it to the end via the Westbound), and then off a small side street. It's in a fairly industrial area. The "warehouse" itself is located at the back of a series of garage-like similar warehouses, but has a clear sign over the top, and quite a bit of people were there (I went on Christmas Eve).

Somewhat warehouse-y, I guess (appropriately) ambiance. One big open space with a huge variety of wines on the left side stretching to the back, and the beer, spirits, and specialty sodas off to the right. Beer was on the back right hand wall, spread over a very long shelving. There were also boxes of beer stock on the ground, open for purchase, and some surrounding or adjacent to the shelving. Six packs were on one shelf, and bombers generally on the other, with craft and imports mixed in together, for the most part.

Selection was good. It wasn't anything that would blow you away, that being said, but it had a lot of nice offerings. In terms of stuff I had never seen before, I came away with a Uerige Doppelsticke, and they also had some Thomas Hardy's Ale, which I had maybe seen once before in my lifetime. They had bottles of Decadence by AleSmith, also, but I had seen that at The Wine Country in Long Beach, too. They had a great variety of Belgians, with pretty much everything under the sun. Wish I had seen some Pannepot, though. I was happy, however, to find a lot 12 oz (11.5?) bottles of Belgian favorites, such as Bernardus Abt 12 and Brasserie des Rocs Grand Cru. I often don't feel like a whole 750ml, and it seems like it's hard to find the smaller bottles.

The big draw with this place, in my opinion, is the prices. As others have mentioned, they have some really cheap bombers scattered here and there, but in general it had prices, on average, $1.50-$2.00 cheaper per item than where I had seen the same item elsewhere. Some examples: Brasseries des Rocs Triple Imperiale 750ml for $8.50, Prima Pils 6-pack for $8.00, Hop Wallop six-pack for $9.99. Great prices, I think.

Service was very helpful - staff members were ready and willing to help customers, and were doing so for more than a few other people shopping.

Anyway, worth the trip, I think, for the prices if nothing else, and the consistently good stock doesn't hurt either.

I probably woulda never found this place if not for my GPS, but if you live the West LA area it's fairly accesible. Totally a warehouse, mostly wine/booze, but a pretty sizable beer corner, at least competes with your average BevMo for size.
Huge selection of Belgian, British and German beers. Lots of loose 12 oz/330 ml bottles which are cheap and you don't have to buy 6 at a time. Craft selection is ok. Most of the normal stuff, seems like they have more from Port and Lagunitas than other places. Also some east coast brews like Victory and Allagash. Can't say I was blown away though.
Price depends on what you're getting. I dropped 25 bucks on three bombers which seems a bit steep. A lot of the stuff was well priced though.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall worth the trip, but I wouldn't drive across town to go there, either.

The Beverage Warehouse is located just off the 405/90 (Marina del Rey Freeway), in West L.A. The place is located in an industrial park type area, just off Culver Blvd. Inside there is a wide selection of beer, wine, spirits. Inside to the right, you find the beer, a large selection of American crafts, Belgians, and European imports. They have a lot that I don't even see at Hi-Times, such as selections from the Penn Brewery. Prices are very good here, bombers are a good $.50 to $1 under what you find at other reatilers and 750s are often more than $2 off. This is a warehouse, so none of the beer is refrigerated, but the great selection more than makes up for it. Found a large selection of Belgians of 330 mL size that I haven't seen elsewhere.
