A: Copper-colored body that is only slightly hazy, with a bold fluffy and creamy looking white head. It leaves pretty good lacing on the glass.

S: A bit musky, some funky old house smell, strong catty scent, and some leafy green plant scent...not sure what kind of plant just like what it smells like in the woods if you start chopping up bushes and stuff.

T: At first I notice the malt flavor, it has this bread crust flavor that is really good. After that there is a bit of hop bitterness that follows that has just a tad of grapefruit, mint, and an herbal quality. Some of that funk scent translates over to the flavor. It has a lot of flavor but it's not too funky. No sourness or tartness to the beer.

M: The mouthfeel is nice, it has a fair amount of body to it, and doesn't finish too dry. It is a slow drinking beer, but isn't a sipper.

O: Overall I thought the beer was pretty good. I felt that the hops seemed to nudge the saison out of the way a bit. It didn't completely overshadow the saison flavors, it just moved them back a bit. The result is something that smells mostly like a regular saison but drinks a bit more like a pale ale...with some funk in it. It's kind of a niche thing, because if you're not a huge fan of hops *and* a hut fan of saisons, you probably won't enjoy it. If you are a fan of both, you will likely appreciate it, because it is a well made beer. I probably won't be drinking it again because it seems to clash to much on my palate, it comes in a bomber which is more than I really want from this, and I've never really said "hey I want a hoppy saison."

An unusual take on a Saison. Certainly not standard Saison flavors, but a pretty good beer.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a big white head on a hard pour. Some lacing on the glass and good head retention.

The aroma is closer to a Saison than the taste. Definitely some yeasty funk in the aroma, especially as the beer warms. Some hoppiness is detected as well.

The flavor is good but more for hoppy Pale Ale lovers than Saison lovers. There are some yeasty/funky flavors but the hoppiness is more prominently featured. The hoppiness is fairly refined....not an "in-your-face" experience, but hoppiness rules here. The funkiness is an afterthought. No lemon or lemon zest flavor.

Mouthfeel is good. Hops bitterness, crisp fairly light. The 6% abv is inviting as well.

Overall, a good drinking experience. I drank the whole bottle myself and would have liked more. I'm sorry I missed the first Saison in the series. Good job by a local brewer!!!!

A hoppy farmhouse beer - as advertised. Lots of tropical fruit and citrus on the nose, but with a yeasty twist. The taste follows suit, though I'd say the saison comes through on the slightly funky finish. Good hop bite though. Lots of carbonation. Light body. A fun drinker. Maybe a little confused. Could be smoother, but that's a fusion beer for ya. I'd drink it again. Would love to try it on tap.

Poured a brown-red/orangish body, slightly cloudy, with decent head that dies quick. A spicy, citric hop aroma hit my nose along with touches of sweetness but no real funk or yeast. More hoppy than used to for a saison as I get floral hops and honey/sugary sweetness in this beer, overpowering the small amount of yeast and funk that are in the beer. Light bodied, not much in the fruit taste department (possible apple skin and/or grape that you might find in a light Belgian ale) but the beer is balanced and is enjoyable. Wouldn't recommend this to someone looking for a traditional saison but it's worth trying.

A - nice orange sunset color. Pronounced lacing.

S - grassy / wheat / banana bread. Some citrus

T - Some wheat flavors, barley/oats. Honey and even some apple. Starts sweet and transitions into a quick spicy finish - ginger/peppery.

M - Very smooth. Spice takes away a little bit of the creaminess in the backbone.

Very solid entry and a great fall seasonal. Complex flavors, many reminiscent of the season. But very drinkable. Enjoyed the harvest flavors and spicy details.
