Pours lighter yellow with lots of fading white foam. Decently smooth good drinking pale. Nothing exceptional, just a good summer night quencher. Drying finish.Hop aroma, citrus orange and lemon flavour, middling mouthfeel. Fizzy carbonation. Thanks Radek. (255 characters)

Grabbed a bottle at the Hyatt Place in Norfolk during a recent stay. Poured into a curved hotel glass.

The Oconnor brewing co Norfolk canyon pale ale was very average. Pours medi copper with a ring of white foam. Faint malt smell. Soapy. Taste is a thin malt with a minty hop spread throughout. Fast finish. Nice local beer. 375 325 350 350 350

Liked the chance to sample a local, but nothing to come back to. (411 characters)

a: served in a standard shaker pint, Norfolk Canyon (named after a seafloor canyon off the VA coast) is a light to medium amber in color, sporting a layer of off-white carbonation with decent retention

s: husky lightly toasted and pale grain aromas, some sweetness but noting out-of-line, grassy citrus hops, nice start

m: carbonated to moderate levels, the body light-medium

t: pale malt body with a moderate grainy, toasted flavor, barley husk, reasonably hoppy with flavors of dried citrus, on the sweeter side to start but cleaning nicely, light-moderate bittering

o: a nice pale ale, a little sweet/grainy at times for my preference, but everything balances well in the end

draft at Harpoon Larry's, Hampton, VA, paired nicely with a monster blackened crab cake (771 characters)

12oz (fresh) bottle into a wine tumbler.

A: Just OK, hazy golden with a smallish white head that dissipates quickly.

S: Crackery malt & a subtle, pleasant kiss of hops.

T: Refreshingly dry with semi-sweet maltiness playing nicely against an increasingly bitter hop component & finish.

M: This is great, carb is right where it needs to be. The malt gives this brew a great body without making it too heavy.

O: Really like this pale. (442 characters)

On-tap at the Tap House Grill in Ghent.

Appearance- Crystal clear pale yellow. Pours with a moderate head that soon dissipates.

Smell- Slightly citrusy, a bit of grain and light hops.

Taste- Typical pale ale in most regards. Starts off with crisp malt that gives way to sweetness then finishes with bitter hops. There is a strange metallic aftertaste that wasn't very pleasant.

Mouthfeel- Thin to medium body that goes down smooth.

Drinkability- If it weren't for that damned metallic aftertaste, it would be a bit better. I'm going to go back in a month or so to see if it was simply something about that particular batch. Overall, it's a good beer to knock back with friends. (682 characters)
