This is a bar that hordes their best beers in the back for employees and special occasions that one must be invited to. I highly recommend going to the Common Table which is only a couple miles from the Moth. Their beer selection is just as good, but they actually let you purchase their rare-find beers. One more thing, one of the mangers at the Moth (Tim) is quick to jump on people having fun there if you're too loud or too rowdy. However, the management at the Common Table will hang out with you and get to know your name. They treat you like you're welcome there.

Visted Dallas for a conference and had a chance to check out the Moth on a Friday night. Parking: valet or do what we did and use the free lot a block away. Very cool exterior. We didn't have reservations, so there was a 1.5 hr wait for a table...good thing we like to eat at the bar ;-)
Took us about 15 min of hovering (enough time to check out the monster tap selection) to get prime seats at the bar. We were greeted quickly and drinks and food arrived promptly. Had the duck wings and steak tartare...very good! Beers were phenomenal...Prarie Bomb was a nice treat for a Michigander!
Prices were what I would expect for the selection, menu and atmosphere. Primarily a younger crowd. Good music. Gave a lower rating for service since it seemed like forever in between rounds, even though we were smack dab in the middle of the bar. Found our bartender (and fellow Beeradvocate member) quite knowledgeable about beer. Looking forward to my next trip to Dallas!

A special treat. I took the time to study the menu(of beers) online before I got there. I always want to try something I haven't had before. The aged Scottish ales were on my radar and they did not disappoint. Remember Harviestoun.
Our party got "share" plates of food. I got to try different things and they were all good. I have been back and will be excited to return. Trying something new and different is exciting for this old timer.
I thought the wait staff were very knowledgeable about their beers and food. The gastropub itself was different. It was a crowded, busy evening my first time. The din was becoming unbearable for me and my wife. It may have been our seating location because the next time it didn't seem so loud.

The Moth is an absolutely must-visit spot in Dallas. I sat in both the huge indoor area and the also very large and beautiful patio, which are each great in their own way. The overall atmosphere is fairly upscale and the food is excellent.
The tap list is very impressive, with a cask on as well. They also have a nice big bottle list and a second bottle list with more limited selections and vintage selections that you have to ask for (be sure to ask for it, you won't regret it).
Service was very good and very friendly. Location is a touch out of the way, but if you are going to an event at the arena, it is only a 10-15 walk away.
