a large format compared to the picture here, 750 ml cork and cage. deep blonde beer mostly clear with a tough to manage white foam head that rises high even on the gentlest of pours. the nose is great on this, fruity esters from the belgian yeast, soft pale malt, and a remarkable amount of banana, a la hefe yeast, which seems odd in a belgian, but works amazingly well here. in the flavor too there is plenty of the banana, especially on the finish, which relaxes an otherwise spicy yeast profile. candy sugar is subtle, but this finishes a little sweet like a tripel, although i would not qualify it as one based on flavor. the malt is really light, lets the yeast do the lifting in terms of flavor, and the feel is exceptional. delicate on the palate with a light body and a potent carbonation with just enough of a long finish of orchard fruits before drying up. expertly made belgian blonde here, drinkable as they come over 7% abv, and fairly priced at roughly 10 bucks per bottle.
