Stopped by this place during Nags Head beach trip with a total of 10 adults and 4 kids. Fairly small place across the road from the beach decorated with various old gas station signs and beer signs. Was surprised to be able to easily get a table for 14 right away on a Monday night during the summer. Turned out to be a nice family friendly bar that was not as loud as expected. Had ~20 beers on draft with ~80 in bottle. Stared with a Ranger IPA on draft and finished with an Endless River. Food was very good upscale bar food. My burger was excellent. My wife enjoyed her crab cake. Noticed most of the other tables getting pizza. Waitress was probably too busy with our large group to be overfly outgoing or friendly, but she got all the orders correct and the kitchen was fast.

The bar had an ok tap list with two hearted, a few other micros and a bunch of macros. the bottle list was above avarage with a very good bottle selection for the type of place. Was not able to cary a conversation with the person next to me and this was at 3 in the afternoon. The bar was large, but the atmosphere was horrible. To be honest, even with the good bottle list I won't go back. A good place for the sub 25 year olds. They were having a good time. Didn't try the food, but it appeared to be standard bar fare.

stopped in here over the weekend while in nags head for a wedding. pretty average looking bar from both the outside and the inside. small bar area but plenty of space to hang outside or around the bar. definitely had a very local vibe even though im sure with their location they get plenty of tourist traffic.
it was late and i was just ponying up at the bar so the service was as good as i needed it to be. the selection was definitely the "highlight". the draft list O.K. with a handful of macros and crafts that are relatively easy to find (Stone IPA, NB Fat Tire, Allagash White, Bells Two Hearted, etc.). i was more impressed with the bottled/canned craft selection which included plenty of Founders (including Double Trouble and Devil Dancer), a few cans from Ska (i have never had anything from them so this was a nice surprise), and some north carolina brews (Duck Rabbit, Mother Earth, Highland), which is what i like to see the most when traveling to a new bar. lot's of home-state selection. with the growing number of north carolina breweries, hopefully they continue to bring more in-state selections.
prices were definitely reasonable and i did not have any of the food, but the people eating pizza next to me seemed to be enjoying it and it smelled pretty good. not a bad stop to make if vacationing in the area.

Lucky 12 Tavern is a great place to grab a beer. I went during "Biker Week" in the Outer Banks. Not being a biker myself, needless to say, I felt slightly out of place. Feelings of awkwardness and isolation were quickly diminished due to good ol' southern hospitality and live music every night I went. If the inside bar gets a little too crowded and you need a little bit of fresh air or want to grab a smoke, out back they have a small outside bar on a nice sized covered deck. Although I didn't try their food, the selection of beer was more impressive then I would have expected before going inside. Almost every day of the week they have excellent and inexpensive drink specials and events that always make it a fun and exciting time.
