One of the better beer stores in town to get some good craft beer. The quality is always good, and the service is attentive. The selection, while not great is pretty good. Lots of Goose Island, Bells, New Holland and Founders. A few imports, but Mostly the selection is Midwest breweries, which is always good. There is a good mix of everyday drinking beers like Honkers, some seasonal beers like Oberon, Founders Harvest Ale, etc. Some rarer stuff as well. Backwards Bastard and Nemesis can be found here. There is a cooler with lots of the aforementioned stuff, but also a shelf that has a lot of singles as well.
Prices are a bit higher than the dirt cheep places on the Strip in Carbondale, but still very reasonable. Overall one of the better places to grab a six pack in the area.

Just moved to Carbondale recently and was happy to find a place that stocks some different beers. Several bourbon barrels are stacked on the outside of the building adding a nice touch. The place in pretty small and feels a bit cramped. The beer section is crammed into one corner of the store but the selection is still good if you are in the area. Beers are seperated by imports and domestic with selections from Sam Adams, Boulevard, Bells, New Holland and Rochefort just to name a few. They even got two cases of KBS in this year. Owner is nice and tries to help you pick out beers that fit your taste. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely be going back.

Holy crap! When did Westroads start stocking craft beer? I moved to Southern Illinois 4 years ago and this place was stuck in the dark ages back then. Recently I walked in to find an entire shelf (ceiling to floor) about 15 feet wide well stocked with sixers, singles and bombers.
I've been able to get Hopslam ($13.99/sixer), GI BCBVS (11.39/bomber), Racer 5, anything Bells, lots of Avery, North Coast, Left Hand, Southern Tier, New Belgium... The list just goes on really. A solid selection of anything you can really find in the Midwest, except Three Floyds.
The staff isn't beer savvy but this is definitely a start. Heard recently that they also do monthly beer tastings hosted by a different brewery each month. Very nice.
Southern Illinois is definitely changing quickly and becoming craft beer friendly!

Westroad has a decent selection of craft beers, along with a gigantic selection of liquor and other booze.
The beer selection is quite large for the small wall they have dedicated to specialty beers. Always a great selection of Founders, New Holland, and Bell's. Almost as if they have a supplier from Michigan.
The staff is friendly, but not all that knowledgable. I can't count the number of times I've ended up answering questions for people that their sales staff didn't know the answer to (recommendations, etc.). Just yesterday, I heard a sales guy tell a woman, "I don't really know anything about beer..."
I have a tendency to spend a ton when I'm in there, so once or twice they've thrown in free promotional swag that they receive from brewing companies.
Pricing is as reasonable as the next place. Overall, a nice place to shop.
