Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black hue with a fat mocha head that fades to leave nice legs and great wisps.

S - Aromas of nice fudgy chocolate, good caramel, marshmallow, faint barrels, nice light bourbon. Maybe a bit much char, good, with very little alcohol.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, nice fluffy marshmallow, sweeter caramel, nice fudgy chocolate, light bourbon, there is nice smoothness, though, the char is a bit heavy. Maybe a bit of a chicory note.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, smooth, alcohol hidden nicely.

O - Overall this is a solid beer, nice porter notes. The char is a bit a heavy.

Thanks to rudzud
Nice fizzy creamy smaller dark head fades at a med pace, decent lacing some legs too, pretty much pitch black color.

Nose huge fudge, thick dark chocolate cocoa, vanilla barrel and straight vanilla, baking choc, little roast and toasted barley, charred barrel, a little chemically char, light roasted caramel, some earthy spicy hop, faint toasted oak and very light bourbon, faint baking spices.

Taste brings thick malts, earthy spicy hop character but mild, then big toasted charred malt, some burnt malts and burnt caramel, some baking spices, little licorice, little yeasty, some cocoa bitter bakers choc, little charred barrel and toasted oak, just a touch of bourbon, chicory like character, little sweetness, fudgey cocoa marshmallow caramel like.

Mouth is thicker bod, little creamy fudgey, lighter carb.

Overall mixed, some nice but also burnt char and chicory meh flavors.

650 mL bottle. Black body. Smell is nutty with some milk chocolate. Lactose? Oak and a bit of whiskey. Taste is also milky. Milk chocolate. Heftier whiskey flavor. Nutty malts. Sweet. Medium body. Too sweet without much depth of flavor for me.

-Color: Nice porter/stout head. Black as night as any beer of this style should be.

-Nose: Get the malty deliciousness on the nose with this. Surprisingly not as much bourbon as I expected to get.

-Flavor: The bourbon is definitely there but it’s not as pronounced as most bourbon barrel beers can be. Smooth mouth feel. The bourbon aging enhances the flavor rather than make it the focal point of the beer. You get marshmallows, light coffee, and nougat on the palate. Smooth as velvet mouth feel that you would want with a nice glass of dark deliciousness. This is a collaboration brew with the guys at Stone and I kinda get a bit of Arrogant Bastard flavor. Maybe that's in my head though.

-Rating: 3.75/5: This is one of the best dark beers I've ever had. Definitely the best bourbon barrel aged beers that I've had. And it all comes back to balance. This brew does a wonderful job of letting the aging process and the stout each stand on their own. I would pick up as many as you can find as this is a limited release.

-Cheers!

“Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial London Porter.” Light but very pleasant Bourbon aroma. Appealing sudsy mouthfeel. Not very sweet. BItter and woody finish. Rather plain, but it improves as it warms. Pleasant licorice tang.

This is more interesting than the run of the mill English Porters. Not a distinctive Bourbon flavored brew, but it goes down easy. Tangy mouthfeel after some sipping. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at New Seasons Market in Portland.
