22oz bottle at 41 F poured into a large mug. Code on the bottle is 4-29-14. I hope it's "bottled on."

Pours slightly hazy golden with a hearty, coarse head and strong retention. Aroma is powerful, detectable at arm's length on the first pour. Smells floral and fruity, grassy, juicy, nice.

Taste is honey, slight pine, some citrus zest. Floral again. Slow, medium bitterness. A bit on the sweet side, but a tasty beer.

Mouthfeel is medium, smooth. Overall, very nice. Smell is great.

22oz bottle - this looks to be a pretty solid contender for the best new brew to come north of 49 of late.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with two zaftig fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some dissipating cloud form lace around the glass as it lazily recedes.

It smells of fancy orange-like citrus flesh, some fresh pine resin and needle, um, 'greenness', semi-sweet grainy and lightly doughy pale malt, a touch of additional biscuity caramel sweetness, a sort of muddled, if still zingy tropical fruitiness, and more leafy, floral, and grassy hoppiness. The taste is grainy and crackery pale malt, orange and red grapefruit juice (with pulp, of course), wet pine forest floor astringencies, still kind of hard to pinpoint, but welcome all the same tropicals, and more second class earthy, leafy, and grassy hops.

The bubbles are nice and easy in their simply-rendered frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and more or less smooth, just a sense of that heretofore unheralded booziness choosing to play the debutante right about here. It finishes off-dry, the sturdy base malt holding tough against a melee of lingering fruity (domestic and exotic, alike), piney, and floral hop bitters.

Overall, a fairly stellar DIPA, the flavours mixing and matching, mingling, and all enjoying their part of the over 16-proof, hard hop cocktail of a beverage in which they are frolicking. Very good stuff, and I'm so glad to see that the progression from their 'standard' IPA was a relatively easy one!

Look: Opaque and golden. About an inch of fine bubbly head. Very little carbonation.

Smell:Interesting citrus, Light grapefruit followed by heavy passionfruit. Really piney. Smells like a hike through the forests of Oregon.

Taste: Super bright. Very citrus forward. The fruit is there but its not as big of a fruit bomb I was expecting after smelling it. A little biscuity but more like an over wet raw dough than the finished product. A little earthy/piney bitterness on the back end but nothing crazy. At 8.1% (in my opinion) its a little light for a Double but this one is complex and fruity enough to cover the ethanol really well.

Feel: Medium body. Alcohol does have a fun little gum numbing effect. Little oily.

Overall: Really good. I'd strongly consider this if its on tap. Also, cheep enough bomber that its worth giving a try. Thumbs up.

Totally enjoying this rando grab - not a beer that sets itself apart from the pack in any way, rather a really nice entry to the style. More toward the lean side of the DIPA spectrum, but with a solid body. Has a clean but juicy character, more citrus than pine, ample sweetness, moderate carbonation, subtle bitterness. Finishes well, leaving a nice aftertaste...

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with fine two finger white head that keep building after pouring; leaves thick lacing. Aroma of herbal, almost dank hops, mild bready malt, lots of tropical and other unusual fruit, intriguing fruit smells. Flavor is very hop-fruit forward with the same exotic fruit flavors that lean toward tropical, but also orange family citrus, citrus hops, mild almost neutral hops. Finishes with herbal, resiny hop bitterness; more flavor than tongue numbing. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A very unusual hop profile that has great and interesting fruit flavors, light resin and herbal qualities. The malt really stands back to let the hops take the fore; I usually like strong malt support in IPAs, but this has so many somwhat exotic, interesting flavors that it works well. A bit on the sweet side, but that's fine with me. Possibly the most hop flavor I can remember with a relatively low bittering component. I liked this a lot.
