12oz bottle poured into tulip.

A: Pours very cloudy amber, with minimal off-white head.

S: Very floral with orange and tropical fruit.

T: Bitter grapefruit and orange, floral with slight pine. Bitterness lingers on the tongue.

M: Clean, almost watery light body.

O: Nothing impressive here. Too bitter in my opinion, it's just 'okay'.

Lot 429, Best by June 2014. 12 oz bottle.

Pours a slightly hazed, dark golden amber with a thin, tiny bubble off white head. Light, smooth chinook nose of pine. Full bodied, medium thick with strong carbonation and a nice dank, pungent pine bitter finish. Robust malt body, caramel and slightly sweet, helps balance the intense pine bitterness. A little citrus tries to slip into the flavor as the beer warms as well. Nice.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 1/2014. Slight gusher upon opening. Pours hazy deep orange copper color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, tangerine, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate malt presence; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pine resin, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Sizable pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pine resin, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice bright citrus/pine hop flavors with a light malt presence; with a fairly dry finish with no cloying bitterness. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very crisp and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice IPA. Good complexity of bright citrus/pine hop flavors with light malt presence; and very crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

"Best by APR 2014" printed on bottle.

This one needs a slightly aggressive pour. I got a little more aggressive as I was pouring and still only got a half finger of off-white head. The body is a caramel-ish orange tone. The head went down to a ring and a dusting rather quickly, and it tried to lace, which slowly slid back down into the beer.

Caramel and a little grain start off the nose, but are quickly taken over by excellent light tropical hoppiness. A little pine, a little resin, a light floral note mix with mandarin orange and light mango.

Pine up front mixes with a crusty bread flavor. The pine continues into a floral flavor with a little orange peel. Taste seems a little different than the nose in this manner. A little mandarin orange is noticed as a compliment when searching through the taste.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied. The carbonation is light and pleasant. It leaves a little residue near the back of the tongue and finishes quite dry.

Aroma: Piney and resiny hop notes assert early and often. Low fruity esters and a touch of caramel sweetness are beaten into submission by the hop aromatics.

Appearance: Ruddy deep amber pour with a low off-white head. Head retention is fair.

Flavor: Prickly, bitey hop bitterness up front. Pine and grassy hop flavors assert mid-palate. Light caramel and bready malt accents after multiple pulls. Balance is firmly bitter. Finish is dry. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and medium-high carbonation. No astringency or alcohol heat.

Overall impression: A piney, punchy American IPA. Well done!
