A: Pours a clear reddish amber with a small amount of white, frothy head with large bubbles.

S: Faint aroma of malt lies underneath a subtle aroma of hop spiciness.

T: Well balanced flavors with a solid malt base, with hints of caramel, providing a springboard a noticeable, but not overpowering hop character. The bottle says they used Warrior and Fuggle, and it does seem to have more of an English character than an American one, even with the Warrior.

M: Light and crisp, but still relatively full flavored. A moderate level of carbonation also lends to the perceived lightening of this beer making it something that could be enjoyed in the winter or the summer.

O: An enjoyable beer, not something to make you stop and stare, but something that could be enjoyed in a session type scenario. It's a solid beer, and I look forward to trying some of their other offerings.

This one is a nice malty amber they mention American hops on the label but it's pretty focused on malt. Slightly hazed amber body with a bright white head fine speckled scattered lacing goes around my pint. Aroma has full on sugary malts bringing slight honey tones with caramelized fruit notes. Flavor is sweet upfront with little hop addition to balance things out, super sweet almost cloying malt base. I liked the Rivertowne IPA and I've got the witbier on deck but this amber is lacking in balance. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with ample carbonatin, like I said malts are laid down heavy enough to create some cloying qualities at times. A solid beer I'm sure many of these recipes are being tweaked in accordance with their new production brewing facility. Good Luck to Andrew Maxwell (John Harvard's Pittsburgh, Rivertowne Pourhouse), Barret Goddard (John Harvard's, West Virginia Brewing, Johnstown Brewing, and Rivertowne Pourhouse), Sean Hallisey (John Harvard's, Johnstown Brewing), and Sean McIntyre (Harvard's, Vahalla, North Country), and the new player who retired from his career to join the venture known as Full Pint Brewing. I think ths is great for beer in the Burgh, and a good thing for these guys who have been passionate about what they've been doing for years.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a caramel color with a 1.2 inch head. Smell is mild, some malts. Taste is also light, malts, some faint hops, just a touch of caramel. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a rather subdued but refreshing beer.

A: A rigidly firm beige head sits above a autumn orange colored body. Fine misty carbonation within, soapy pocket voids along the vessel walls with a big sloppy dispaly of foam work for lacing.

S: Toasted grain sweetness with a slight hint of chocolate. Hops are very reserved here, malt depth is ok per style just a bit linear in aromatic features.

T: Sweet speciality grains, cherry malt with some fruity fruggel hop notes are first impressions. Late hit of chocolate is very evident, sweet, with a spicy piney-chocolate combination finish.

M: Frothy mouthful, spicy, good rate of carbonation within a medium-full body. Husky feel.

O: Overall sweet, fruity, somewhat chocolately not your typical american/west coast citrus style, but a generally good flavor none the less.

Poured into a pint glass.

3.5 A: Clear orange amber color. A little over one finger of frothy off-white head. Retention is a touch below average and a small ring of lacing is left.

4.0 S: This smells just like a tasty brown ale. Big toastiness and nuttiness. Dry graininess. Very, very little caramel. Earthy hops.

4.0 T: Tastes like a brown too. Again, toastiness and nuts abound. Dry graininess and a touch of caramel. Earthy hops. Pretty much the same as the nose.

3.5 M: Ligher medium body. Active carbonation that comes off slightly biting. Low creaminess. Otherwise, fine.

3.5 D: Not much of an amber ale, but a good beer nonetheless.

A - A very solid hazy amber color with a inch of fluffy head

S - Starts off with a caramel sweetness of the nose, then a hop assault of pine and a sweet malt.

T - Wow this is a nice rep of the style. A nice sweet caramel with a hop forward body of pine and citrus with a malty sweet finish. Bravo

M - Light I could drink this all day

D - As for full pint goes this is the best red ale I ever drank. Almost like an amber lager with more sweetness. Great brew and good times!
