Boulevard's in J'Town, PA had another decent offering of the Full Pint version of Blue Moon...White Lighning Wit. The beear poured a hazy yellow color with decent carbonation, white thin head that dissipates quickly, some lacing. Smell light wheat malt, slight biscuit, hints of spice and lemon, slightly bitter. Taste is basically a dead ringer for Blue Moon....with some spice hints of lemon/citrus. Adding an orange peel...really made this a good beer. Mouthfeel is was good....nice lighter drinkable beer. Overall, nicely done witbier.

Bought from the Beer Store in Moon, pours a slightly hazed golden hue with a bright white head fine lacing followed around the sides of my pint glass. Aroma has sharp coriander citrus wheat notes and evident spicy grains of pardise forming in my nares. Flavors drink well actually with a refreshing tart white ale presence...sharp wheat brings on some citrus qualities maybe a bit of citrus peels. Mouthfeel is medium bodied efffervescent light and spritzy carbonation, goes down easiliy. Another well made Full Pint brew, how many brewers does it take to screw in a light bulb, I'm kidding this is just solid good brewing I'm glad this was a collaboration white ale.

Full Pint Brewing "White Lightning Wit"
12 oz. bottle, no apparent freshness dating
$1.99 @ Wegmans, Collegeville, PA

Notes: Quite cloudy, even in the bottle. Same in glass. Odd, lack of head retention. No lacing. Doesn't appear to have a lot of carbonation. Aroma is nice. Coriander, yeast, wheat, some citrus rind and juice. Flavor is better, adding some lemon and apple to round it out. Not over-spiced. Nicely balanced. Moderate bitterness leads into a dry finish accentuated by coriander spiciness. Carbonation is there, delicately bristling on the tongue; very fine-bubbled. Light-medium in body. Some acidity. Spot-on for the style with the exception of the clarity, which is still OK; and maybe it could use a touch more carbonation, but again OK. Charming. Remarkably drinkable. Need to find more from these guys.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a whiteish/golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, slightly sour aroma. Taste is crisp, wheat and spices, some citrus, refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pilsner glass. Pours a hazy gold with a thin layer/ring of white foam.

Has that great citrus, lemon smell to it. A little bit of spice and clove to it as well. The taste picks up the spicy/ peppery flavor and some coriander and clove as well. Little bit of tang from the yeast and finishes nice and dry. A nice light mouthfeel with some good carbonation to back it up.

A good refreshing wit that is especially tasty on the warm summer days.

- Best by 12/13. Enjoyed on 10/07/13. Lot#360.

A: The palest of straw like pour turns a brass tone in the glass with a dense hazy turbidity factor. A slim film, dirty white head is short on hold but has good signs of carbonation within. Weak spacious lacing does little to dercorate the glass.

S: Bright oranges, lemon with a bit of peppery flair on the nose. Dry pilsner like grains.

T: Flavor was lemony-orange, a bit of peppery spicing. The real charm here has to be the blend of pilsner and wheat, really like how it comes together, a bit more creamier, fuller then usual, but with a bright grainy and crisp awareness. Lemon citrus twang, gentle sourness, creamy orange wheat and oats with some spicy clove nature and cinnamon spicing. Sweet flashes of grains come about.

M: has a tight feel of carbonation at first, lets up a bit rather quickly, but the malting is smooth and creamy oats for base.

O: Overall bright and crisp, decent spicy twang, not over the top, but more subtle in nature, ideal for causual summer time sipping with no worries. Once again really like the creaminess of the malting.

Served in a weizen glass at Al's of Hampden. No garnishes.

A: The witbier is a golden yellow brew, hazy throughout. A small head, no more than a thin band, sets gently atop the wit.

S: The nose has plenty of orange peel, a sweet citrusy aroma. Wheat and pale malts generate a bready aroma with a tart finish. The crisp tartness in the finish sets the stage nicely.

T: The addition of nitrogen reduces the impact of the carbonation, allowing flavors to linger. That aids the curacao and wheat flavors, giving them legs. There is much more pale barley than wheat, creating a bready flavor that saves the wheat tartness for the very end of each sip. The witbier is very refreshing, better even than I was expecting.

M: The nitrogen-CO2 mix helps the mouthfeel, allowing the tart and fruit flavors to linger. I'd love to see a little more in the way of tart wheat.

D: Another solid beer from Full Pint. This one is light and very refreshing. A good ale for a warm September day.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving a bit of lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of lemony wheat are present in the nose. The smell becomes a little stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell, except that the lemon citrus flavors are a little stronger and there are some notes of spices towards the finish.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and has some refreshing properties. It is a nice choice if you like lemony aromas and flavors.
