Festivus for the rest of us, but this leaves just a little to be desired...

Decent dark caramel coloration, a burnt look actually. But the rest of it is, well, nothing like the holiday itself (so to speak). The spicy flavor doesn't come across the nose and the carbonation is much more than I like, but still full-bodied. Overall, it's a decent brew, nothing special but definitely something nice to have on hand, especially when those grievances are held... :)

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Best by 4/23/19, so plenty fresh.

Dark brown/amber body. An initial decent white head fizzles out to a thick ring and faint covering. Little in the way of lacing.

The aroma is non too pleasant. There is a malty brown ale smell, but there is an underlying sour mustiness which is a concern.

Ah, I think the vanilla must is the culprit here. . Oily, slick taste. No cinnamon can be detected, which is odd for a spiced ale. Spice mix doesn't agree with me at all. tastes both bitter and a little sweet, but not in a good way.

Mouth medium, finish a oily faintly sweet mess.

Sorry, but this is going straight down the drain. Really disliked this beer.

Dark reddish brown, faintly carbonated, foam dissipates quickly. Smells malty and a bit of spice. Tastes malty and slightly sweet, but not overly sweet. Typical Christmas spices are pleasant and not overpowering. Not bitter or hoppy at all. Very easy drinking. Overall not a bad Christmas beer.

Super smooth - extremely smooth and classic brown ale beer. The smell is excellent for a winter brown. Not over powering on the spice, delicate and subtle. Yum!

Brown colored brew with a slight red tinge and a thin tan head. Lots of bubbles seen rising to feed the thin head. Scent is of vanilla and brown ale malt with some slight nutmeg or maybe mace? This beer almost has a soda quality both on the nose and the flavor. Very gentle and somewhat sweet flavor. Sort of like a watered down brown or a vanilla soda. Not a lot of carbonation. Easy to drink I guess.

Poured into a custom shaped grip glass: color is hazy amber/light brown, head is off white to light tan in color, head presents 1/4 inch thick and dissipates to a ring with some lacing.

Smell is mix of spice with vanilla, light cinnamon, hint of nutmeg, some light caramel malt.

Taste is more muddled than the aroma, blend of spices with vanilla, cinnamon; malt flavor is neutral and bland.

Mouthfeel is a bit flat, dry, and watery at times.

Overall an ok winter spice ale, spices are mixed but malt character is low for a brown ale or strong ale style.

Poured flat ruby red. No head. Little carbonation. No lacing. Taste? Malty dishwater. This is very watery and bland. Very disapointed.

Was excited when I poured it, has a lovely reddish color. Then I tasted it. what a disappointment, this beer is totally bland, no hint of winter spices.
