This brew pours a black color with a thin mocha head which dissipates quickly. Very little lacing on the glass. A little cloud of the original head stays on the top of the brew until the end.

The smell is strong with coffee, burnt coffee, roasted malts.

The taste is strong bitter, burnt coffee. There are also, roasted/burnt malts. There is also a dry, wheat like taste. The burnt coffee is too much 'in your face' therefore overpowering any other tastes that might be in the brew.

The mouth feel is smooth and creamy but there is also the feel of burnt coffee grinds; that is what I am feeling.

Overall this is not very well balanced, too much bitter coffee and not enough of anything else. This is not the best porter I have tried.

Dark brown color with a short lived head that manages to boast webs of wide lace.

The aroma is simple - roasty dark malts with meager coffee notes. The malt has small touches of grainy complexity; it seemed to have an oat smoothness that I reckon is the wheat. The taste is tangy and roasty but, unfortunately, with a lacking for coffee. As is, it's a competent, average sort of semi-chocolatey porter. Puffy carbonation hits hard against a hungry body; the feel isn't as plush as I might like.

Pours very dark brown. Has a glazey coarse foam that remains as a thin layer. Light seeps through around the edges.

Rugged malty notes with prevalent coffee, sweetness, dark caramel/molasses, and a hint of vanilla. Still, rather grainy. Definitely on the sweeter side.

Coffee is muted and bitter. The bitterness is accretuated by earthy hops and acrid burnt grain. Very malty and on the rich side. Sweetness is like a remnant grain sugar. Finishes with intense earthiness (almost mucky) and medium in length with some hop flavor carryover.

Has decent body. Carbonation is medium-to-mild. Late sizzle saves it. Otherwise, it feels a little flat.

Very average porter. Coffee isn't big and tasty as I would have liked.

12 oz bottle courtesy of tommyguz pours a rich brown color with a super-fine bubbled head...looks almost nitro. Retention is awesome because of it and the lacing very nice. Bonus points for a spectacular label and a great name.

Nose is milk chocolate and coffee...quite original descriptors, I know! Smells good and fresh.

Taste is less astringently roasty than many coffee beers. The coffee flavors are there aplenty, but it maintains a great smoothness. Maybe it is the sweetness...regardless, it is a tasty coffee porter. Not a whole lot of complexity here, like in the aroma, but it is a fine beer - I have been pretty impressed with the 2 Full Pint offerings I have had so far.

The aroma delivers on the promise of coffee, as does the flavor. Coffee dominates, but there is a caramel sweetness behind it. Very complex thanks to the blend of malts. Ends dry and bitter, but more of a coffee bitterness than one from hops. Light and smooth body, if a bit watery.

Very nice coffee porter.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.
Dark brown/black in color, with a moderate head of tan foam.
Aroma-Roasted coffee, dark malt
Taste-Dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, black patent malt. Nice, strong coffee flavor throughout, faint charred note in the finish. A nice match for a steak or fully dressed burger.

This is a very pleasant coffee porter. It has a ton of character, and it is all good character.

It opens nicely to reveal a nearly opaque brown. The aroma is pretty but faint. Coffee and chocolate are there, but not in your face.

The taste is balanced to more yeasty than a porter normally is, to great effect. It tastes like a bigger beer than it is.

This is so far my favorite from Full Pint. You gotta love the label. Very robust.

Not to get overly literal here, but "perky" and "huge" aren't synonymous words. On to the beer.

It's a solid dark brown, too dark to see through. It grows a nice tan head to a bit higher than one finger. Retention is good, as the head lasts the entire way and never falls very much. A good amount of patchy lacing sticks to the glass.
Malts don't show off too much roast in the nose; even though the coffee offers it, it focuses more on the coffee notes pre-roasting, it seems. It's got porter strength, which might take the huge stout drinkers some getting used to , but it's good if not simple. In the flavor, a bit more roast kicks in. Coffee is less subtle, which is something that works slightly against the aroma.
These days, it seems porters need to be defended for not being huge. The body in this beer is right, giving medium strength to hold it together without weighing it down. Carbonation is moderate, flowing nicely without being too crisp but both crisp and smooth enough.

pours a chestnut brown with light edges and a fuzzy bubbly light brown head. Nose is fairly nice, chocolate fudge and cake batter with a nice rich roared coffee note subtly accompanying. Taste is a bit watery and much more roasted with a tinge of burnt coffee. Still a decent cakey type quality but much more muddled than the nose. Body is lighter with a gentle to low carbonation and dry chocolaty finish that lingers a bit.

Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice glass

Appearance – Served a deep brown colored brew with a one finger tan head. The head fades relatively fast to give a moderate level of lacing.

Smell – The aroma is big in roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Mixed with these smells are some lighter notes of some brown sugar and a little bit of dark fruit. Overall, it is quite a tasty smelling brew.

Taste – The taste starts out more roasted malt and brown bread in flavor. Soon the coffee comes to the tongue along with some of the brown sugar sweetness that was detected in the nose. As the taste advances further the chocolate then comes to the scene, melding well with the coffee flavor to produce a mocha taste. These flavors slightly bitter the brew in the end and leave a rather satisfying flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was rather thin with a carbonation level that was on the slightly higher side. The body was too light, and to allow the nice chocolate and coffee flavors to shine, a thicker body would be necessary.

Overall – While it had all the right flavors, it lacked the body to hold them up. Just a bit more in the body and the brew would be wonderful, but without it, in some ways it is akin to drinking watered down gourmet coffee.

I dont know what it is about coffee beers, but when trying a new one, I'm always a bit apprehensive. It's always nice to be pleasantly surprised that someone was able to pull off the job in smooth fashion. And that's what we've got here: a nice easy drinker that takes hold of all the characteristics you'd hope for a real pleasant drinker.
