Black body of course, this came with a thin tan ring around the snifter.

Aromas of intensely dark chocolate, vanilla, oaky graham crackers, and some mild whiskey. More intense on the palate than in the nose. Ashy, charred dark chocolate dominates the flavor profile. Stout first barrel second, but the barrel characteristics are absolutely present. Woody coconut, vanilla, and a mellow, lingering whiskey note. The mouthfeel was oily rather than thick.

A damn good stout overall, I need to find a couple of four packs.

2014 vintage, poured into a snifter

A- pours pitch black with a small foamy khaki colored head that reduces to just a small ring, leaving no lace behind

S- lots of spicy rye aroma up front gives some peppery notes and then mixes with barrel juice and a hint of toasted oak. Smoky chocolate malt with a hint of charcoal, more spicy rye on the close

T- the rye is noticeable first on the flavor as well, spicy & peppery. Big flavors of milk chocolate & cocoa kick in with some caramel notes as well. The barrel notes are subtle, but noticeable with just a hint of rye whisky in the finish

M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and a slightly warming finish, abv is hidden pretty well

O- very subtle on the bourbon barrel, but the base stout is quite good, a nice sipper

Light on the barrel, however this is an otherwise nice stout. Scents of mocha, licorice, and sweetness lead to a full creamy mouthfeel. Flavors of vanilla, breakfast blend, cocoa, give way to a bit of booze (actually leans toward more toward vodka than whiskey) with a dry oaky finish. Would revisit...

A: Very dark in color soft carbonation

S: Aged in rye whiskey barrels but it smells like a good stout on the nose with roasted coffee and chocolate then some vanilla smells

T: smooth rich chocolate with some liquor taste I really would have guessed bourbon very smooth

M: Very smooth and surprisingly creamy for a barrel aged beers just an excellent mouthfeel

O : fairly impressed here, it's got a very smooth mouthfeel no heat the barrel is right there but not in your face it's an astonishingly well rounded BA stout
