Draught @ Mad Mex: This one pours a hazy slightly orange color. There was a small off-white head that left some lacing. It has a very nice hop nose. Definitely pine and citrus notes, a nice blend of the two. Maybe some biscuit too. The taste is very good. Good hop bite, with a nice body behind it. Piney, earthy, maybe some biscuit and a hint of orange. Very Good.

Serving Type - Bottle

Appearance - Burnt orange, golden tan with a 1/2 foamy head, sticky lacing.

Smell - Grapefruit, lemon, pine, a little sugar aroma. Malt backbone with some bready notes.

Taste - Big bite of grapefruit and lemon with strong caramel malt backbone. Has a sour flavor much like a raisin or green apple. Some bready malts along with some sugars add a little sweet kick. A little alcohol warmth comes out near the finish.

Mouthfeel - Sour hops really coat the tongue. Palate gets more sour fruits, bready, caramel malts and some added sugars. Aftertaste is dry, bitter and sour.

Overall - Decent beer, has plenty of flavor, but a little bland. Straight up sour hops and some malts, nothing more. Easy to drink for being 8% and enjoyable, just nothing spectacular, though I wasn't expecting a world class dipa here. Worth a drink.

I found this beer similar to their TriPA except a bit more balanced.

A - A very dirty amber brown color with just a 1/4 inch of head that fades to a ring. Very little lacing.
S - I agree with others this beer is a very malt forward IPA. Baked sourdough bread and some muddled hops. On the plus side it doesn't have any ethanol smells so it must be balanced.
T - It has a good hop taste but mostly pellets but whatever I didn't expect "fresh hop" Other than that the bready malts are quite tasty and it even has some lingering hops in the finish.
M - Body is decent more medium bodied for this IPA.

Overall this really should be listed as a DIPA any beer over 7.5% is beyond regular IPA requirements. For what it is though its quite good but nothing to faun over since more balanced DIPA's are available.

Slightly cloudy amber copper body with a big off white head, looks nice enough but it's time to take a smell. Aromatics quality citrus, grapefruit pith, crushed aspirin the label states three hops Columbus, Centennial, and Palisade. Caramel malt adds enough fresh baked bread sweetness to balance out 100+ IBUs. The best by date on the bottle is June 2014, but the hops here are muddled. The beer hits the palate with full force abrasiveness, a bit of a sour/tartness. Hop pellets, sourdough bread, alcohol sits on the palate with a muddled wallop of hop resins, pretty harsh mouthfeel/flavor combos. I love IPA, this Gus IPA has the right components but doesn't execute with specific hop flavors the way I perceive hops from some of my favorite IPAs. Overall I will keep being loyal to the crew at Full Pint, I know they are great brewers Shaun/Garrett/whoever else helps these guys brew. Artwork is awesome it's like a reincarnated Stevie Ray Vaughn (I've never met the guy, but I guess they have a house bluesman named Gus), pretty cool.

Bottle > Sensory Pils

A - Cloudy orange with half a finger of soapy white head, small lacing.
S - Tons of orange, caramel malts, a little toast, a little dank pine, sweet mango, pineapple, orange candy.
T - A decent mix of malt and hops, bitter dank pine, sweet caramel malt, fresh orange juice, grapefruit, orange marmalade.
M - Sweet clingy, but not overwhelming.
O - Very good, best IPA that they've brewed yet, I hope this will replace TRIPA, because its three times better that one.

Always unnerving when an IPA pours such a dark amber with brown tones. The beer is kind of tangy. There is an odd citrus tone to things that shows too much while not showcasing any desirable hop character.

There are a lot of IPAs out there worth trying. Unfortunately, this ends up not being one of those. Too many good beers out there to try instead of wasting time with misses.
