Ok, I bought this due to the bottle/pk art. Kids are in to the whole walking dead thing, I thought ok, a beer to watch with. I also got the perc e bust brew, ya a beer to watch with. That's another time.
It pours nice, dark black, tan head with a little cascade, nice.
Tan head that maintains and does lace well. Carbonation is fair.
Aroma of toasty malts, coffee bean, earthy.
Taste of toasted malts, toffee sweetness, grinds of coffee, dark chocolate and chared wood.
Mouth is dark chocolate oil with a charred aftertaste. I did not get any hop bitterness as noted by other pa reviewers?
Overall a good drinkable stout that's true to style. I like that it's 7 percent.
And yes, it goes good with zombies!

12oz brown bottle into shaker pint.
Look: dark brown with a thick tan head that lingers.
Smell: roasted malt and American hops. Malt has coffee notes and the hops are resiny/citrusy.
Taste: fairly dry, but without the astringency of Irish dry stouts. Some chocolate and espresso flavors in the front. Malt backbone is solid, but it's eclipsed by the punchy bitterness in the finish. It's roasted malt bitter added to hop bitter. Overall, it's well balanced, but that bitter finish kicks and lingers.
Feel: carbonation is light and doesn't interfere with the flavor profile. I drink a lot of stouts, so I'm probably a poor judge of how heavy it feels as compared to other styles. It's lighter than a barleywine and heavier than a pale lager.
Overall: A solid interpretation of the style. The lingering bitter finish and high ABV make it tough to session, but I don't think it was meant for that.

Tastes like someone added an IPA to a few drops of stout. Not a fan of IPAs, huge fan of stouts. Keep your hops away from my dark beer.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Nearly black pour with thick foamy tannish head. Great lacing.
S: Roasted grains and mild espresso.
T/F: Follows the nose... roasted grains and lightly burned sugars. Mild coffee... bitter roast and more hopping than you usually get with a stout. Medium to light bodied... well carbonated.
O: A decent and relatively dry stout... and the added hops works for the brew. Lots of flavor, and and overall decent beer.

Matte black with three fat fingers of dark tan head. It lasts a good long while and leaves heavy webbed lacing.
The first whiff is sort of reminiscent of a Northwest Red Ale: caramel red malts and pine. That's accompanied by somewhat more stoutish aromas, like strong black licorice and a hint of smoke, that are still pretty unique.
Very bitter pine-tar dominates in the taste. There's also strong char, anise, gentian root and some light, stale coffee behind.
Medium bodied with strong carbonation, appropriate to the style.
This is my first time with the "Western Pennsylvania Stout" substyle, if that's really a thing. Reminds me a bit of Pike XXXXX Stout. I can see how this would be polarizing, but I think it's a fun sipper. Appropriately named, too.

This is actually just a very bad beer. I’m surprised.

Aroma was pine and citrus with the taste being the same. The citrus but especially the pine completely dominated this beer. This came off like an ipa and didn't have any of the qualitys of a stout

12oz bottle poured into beer glass.
Look: Black, with an off white head.
Smell: chocolate, roasted barley, grapefruit, and pine.
Taste: Chocolate, then the hops hit. grapefruit, and pine.
Feel: easy to drink considering the abv.
Overall: A unique stout. The hops are strong in this beer, which makes it stand out.

On tap at Bierport in Pittsburgh, PA.
This one pours a very dark brown, nearly black, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like citrus, pine, heavily burnt and roasted malt, and some powdery chocolate.
This is quite hoppy for a stout, but I don't really mind that. The malt character feels very burnt, this is probably amplified because of the heavy duty pine presence. There's some citrusy sweetness, and a little bit of chocolate, with some coffee, too. The flavors are a bit thin, though, I don't mind the hoppiness, but I'd prefer the stout aspect to be a bit bolder.
This is kinda thin-bodied, with a good level of carbonation.
I think this is better than the ratings suggest, but it's certainly far from perfect.
