Atmosphere: this is absolutely the worst aspect to this place. It is so cramped and small inside, and due to the heavy business...its so cramped. Many times I've opted out of going here just because I don't want to have to deal with the crowd...which is another thing...the crowd is bunch of cocky college kids who believe they know more about beer than they actually do. Its honestly just an annoying place to be at night. You need to go during the day.
Service: People are generally hired for their looks rather than knowledge. Don't ask them for opinions.
Selection: This is near perfect. There's something here for everyone. Tho do not come here expecting to find anything you haven't seen before. There are a bunch of great taps however. They had Southern Tier Unearthly and Weihenstephaner on top which I thought was awesome

I try to about this World of Beer at all costs. It always seems to be packed, being that it's literally down the road from UCF. When they're having specials you'd better get there early if you want a seat or someone to pay attention to you. The staff seems nice enough but they're not very attentive.

This is located right off University a couple miles west of the UCF campus.
Although small, the atmosphere is nice with a large patio (always nice in Florida) and a large bar-top. I like how the inside flows to the outside without walls or doors keeping them completely separated. Unfortunately though, there is not a lot of seating options available inside other than the bar-top.
The selection is huge. Around 30 taps and a huge book of bottles. The staff is nice, and they can give you some advice and knowledge about beers, but it's evident most of what they offer is retained from training and not their own passion of craft beers.
The trick to this place is picking a time to go when it is NOT BUSY! Wednesday nights they have 1/2 off all drafts for anyone with a student ID, which if you know UCF, you know that means 50,000 students. It's always nice to see new people appreciating craft beer, but this place pretty much turns into a packed night club on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Be smart about when you decide to go. Make it a Sunday evening trip, or Monday/Tuesday after work trip and it will be plenty enjoyable for you.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. The loves: First, the beer selection is fantastic. They have somewhere around 40 taps, all with great selections. The lines are clean and the beer tastes fresh. The bottle selection is huge, and you will always be able to find something you want. So, the beer is the best part about this place. Now the hates...
First off, the place is small. Maybe 1000 sqft, and its longer than it is wide. They have a long bar and outside seating area, but it is still cramped.
It is almost ALWAYS crowed. So crowded in fact, that you will be hard pressed to find a place to sit if you are going in the evening. It is usually standing room only, which is really, really annoying. I wouldn't even bother going on a Friday or Saturday night. Its really that bad. The crowd is also typically reminiscent of college frat guys (a couple mi from UCF), so be prepared to face partiers, not beer lovers. Also, if you go late in the week, prepare for them to be sold out of some of the more popular brews. They change their menu weekly, so if you see something you like, you better get there early in the week. The worst part is, they don't replace the kegs with anything else. If it's out, it's out.
WOB is LOUD. They have music typical pop/rock music playing WAY too loud, all night. It is very hard to have a conversation or even relax. Even outside, the place roars. Combine this with the rumble of the crowd and you can barely hear yourself think.
The barstaff is iffy. They aren't very attentive and don't seem to know/care much about beer. Most of them are young girls with their breasts about to pop out of their shits (think Hooters), or young muscular guys. Sure, some of them may know a thing or two, but it is obvious that they are hired on looks rather than experience. On the plus side, most of them seem to know how to pour a beer, which is a major plus. Most bars, they give you a beer filled to the top with no head what-so-ever. WOB is one of the first places I have been to that serves a proper pour.
Perhaps the worst part of this place is the price. The cheapest you will typically find a draft beer is $4, and that is just for their special. Expect everything else to be >$6, with an average around $7 per beer. Some of the imports or special beers will run you $8-10. For example, I paid $8 for a Chimay Tripel. The worst part however is that different beers are different sizes, regardless of price. For $8, I got a small snifter of Chimay Tripel, probably half a pint. I expected a full Goblet or Tulip for that price, but nope. It is the same for imperial stouts or other big beers. Expect to pay $10 for a half pint.
I wish I could love this place, but I just can't. The crowds, tight spaces, noise, iffy barstaff, availability issues, and prices make this place a miss in my book. Unfortunately, it is one of the few places around UCF that actually serves good beers.

Visited this place as I was back in Orlando visiting friends and my buddy told me we had to hit this spot. It has a college like atmosphere so close to the school but still a cool vibe so I won't call it a college dive bar. As for the beer the bottle selection is massive although if you're jonesing for real hard-to-find Belgian ales or imports you might be out of luck. Good draft selection and they seem to rotate w/ some seasonals. Overall a must try, although for a beer geek/snob it might not be the creme de la creme.

World of Beer can be a great place to catch a game, kick your feet up, and enjoy one of 30+ beers on tap, or 500+ bottles, if it's not busy.
The recently opened World of Beer near UCF is a nice space that exudes class and beer-geekery. A giant chalkboard lists all draft beers with prices and ABV, and a whopper of a menu lists all the bottles. The problem with WOB is that the space is small, and the crowds aren't. I have a hard time truly enjoying my beer if I'm forcing my way through a capacity crowd and standing for 2+ hours. The fact that it's usually standing room only eliminates the opportunity to enjoy a high-gravity, sipper of a beer. The crowd is mostly all UCF students who don't seem to appreciate what they're drinking.
All in all, a great place to grab a beer or nine if it's not busy. Get there early and avoid Wednesdays (half-off after nine brings out the students like wildfire.)
