Poured a dark-brown, clear colour.

Smelled of roasted malts, clean, with a little bit of chocolate.

Tasted toasty, faintly sweet with bits of coffee and chocolate. Clean and very mellow. Very drinkable porter.

Would I buy it again? Definitely. (247 characters)

Roasted chocolate hit me early. 500 ml bottle picked up in midlands Ireland. Not for those who prefer a bitter porter. Would have liked a creamy head but not complaining. Nice drinkable porter. (195 characters)

A bit thin. Lacking bitterness that goes with the style. Drinkable but a bit off (80 characters)

500ml bottle bought online from Drinkstore.ie

Poured almost pitch black with just the slightest hint of red when held up to the light... Creamy mocha head poured tight, thick and meringue like then faded quickly to decent thickish covering.. some thick lines of lacing coat the glass for the duration...

Aroma - Quite strong dustiness, roasted chocolate maltiness, instant coffee granules, burnt toasted bread, some dark fruit hints (black cherries and blackcurrents), vanilla notes, faint treacle sweetness, some pepperiness..

Taste - Some roasted malt bitterness, lots of pepperiness, faint smoky notes, quite earthy, roasted nuts, dark coffee / espresso, no real sweetness - just the slightest hint of some dark muscovado sugar.. some light blackcurrent fruitiness, light milky traces... all the flavours seem a little watered down though...

Feel - Pretty sharp and very dry... light / medium bodied... Fairly quaffable at only 5.1%

Overall - A pretty good porter although i think the flavours could all do with being beefed up a bit.. certainly worth a try though... (1,079 characters)

On tap at Against the Grain, Dublin.

Garnet-tinged black with a tight creamy tan head that sheets. Roasty smoke and Maltesers nose.
Earth, tea brack and demerara sugar, a bit of branch, then some English hops astringency.
Cola end and clingy linger. Med-thin, soft, some creaminess.

A bit too sweet and sour, and syrupy body. Doesn't go for either roastiness or hops. (And without any bitterness, can't really be called an Irish Stout.)
If you want this sort of thing, try Dark Arts.

On-tap at The Black Sheep in Dublin, Ireland.

A - Served in a pint glass. Dark chocolate brown with a hint of red, nice creamy white head.

S - Roasted coffee, hints of chocolate.

T - One of the best tasting porters I've had. Incredibly smooth transitions in the flavor profile, flowing effortlessly from coffee to smooth chocolate to a nicely bitter finish.

M - Fairly typical porter mouthfeel, a little bit light. Medium low carbonation. I'd definitely like a stronger mouthfeel on this one, but it's right on par as far as style goes.

O - An excellent Irish craft beer, one of the best porters I've had. Easy drinking, but tasty and refreshing, didn't want it to end. May have been influenced by the awesome pub I had it in as well.
