This fine place (a former cinema) was opened as a brewpub towards the end of 2009. They brew two beers; Bay Ale and Bay Lager on the premises. These two beers are also sold in other outlets owned by the same company (The Salt House, The Cottage). They also have Galway Hooker on tap as well as the usual macros. They also have a fairly decent bottled beer selection, though they seem a bit on the pricey side.
It is spacious, nicely decorated and easy to locate in Salthill. You can walk there from Galway city centre, or take the local bus.
I haven't tried the food, but by all accounts it is good fare.
EDIT: October 2010; I revisited the place on a Sunday evening. There was a match being shown on the big screen (right at the back), but it was easy to avoid this by staying in the front part. They have a very good selection of imported bottled beers, but their own Bay Lager is very drinkable. We also had a plate of cheeses, sliced meats and olives for 10 that was very good.

I visited Galway Bay Brewery (the Oslo) on vacation in Salthill/Galway in October 2013. From speaking with the server they have been open for 4 years now, and their beer selection continues to expand and improve. They have a lunch menu 12-4pm and dinner menu 4pm-9pm, and the food is good and reasonably priced. I tried the Voyager IPA and Full Sail IPAs, both were some of the better craft beers we've had on our stay in Ireland. This was the first place we've come across in Ireland that has a true "microbrewery" feel to it. If you're in the area it is definitely worth a visit.
